Be a part of the Protected Antijam Tactical SATCOM (PATS) family of programs that will provide secure SATCOM services to tactical users in contested or weather degraded environments. Under PATS, the Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) program awarded a contract to Boeing to provide ground elements that will enable an operational Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW) capability via Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS). PTES is being executed under Section 804 authorities as the first rapid prototyping program at SMC applying Agile project management in collaboration with the contractor.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working with Government, Aerospace, SETA and other FFRDC personnel to monitor and evaluate contractor performance, identify technical and performance risks and oversee mitigation activities
Applying skills and adaptability in various software systems engineering areas including agile software development, software acquisition guidance, software architectures, cloud computing environments, and enterprise systems
Participating in technology working groups, reviewing and evaluating contractor submitted documents for technical accuracy and completeness, and identifying and mitigating program risk
Collaborating with Aerospace Engineering Technology Group to support reviews and analyses
Overseeing roadmap and product backlog activities and working closely with the contractors to ensure program success
Participating in day-to-day technical activities and task accomplishments with contractors
Providing expertise at technical interchange meetings, reviews, briefings to Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel
Providing status to the Air Force customer and interacting with other Integrated Product Teams as needed
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline
7 or more years of relevant scientific/engineering experience that includes experience in large and complex systems
2 or more years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and deploying cloud native microservices and building on a containerized platform
Occasional travel
Current secret clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Ability to lead tasks and to work on multiple tasks concurrently
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Masters or PhD degree from an accredited program in Computer Science
Hardware and software integration experience
Experience with infrastructure as a service platforms such as AWS, Azure, or CloudStack
Experience with deployment automation technologies including Terraform, Ansible, and Helm
