    Job Summary

    The GEOINT Development Office (GDO) under the National Systems Group (NSG) serves as the technical adviser to the government's national intelligence electro-optics programs. The Payload Division within GDO utilizes Aerospace’s core competencies and cutting-edge technologies to support payload hardware development, acquisition, and operation. Its strategic focus is applying strong systems engineering approaches to provide sound and objective technical recommendations and solutions.  As a Project Engineer (PE), you will work closely with the customer and colleagues to effectively coordinate matrix engineering and Aerospace laboratory resources in support of existing and new generation spacecraft integration and test efforts

     

    This position can be located in Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA

     

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Monitoring spacecraft integration and test operations and providing technical and programmatic support and provide daily reports to customers. 

    • Coordinating matrix engineering support to aid with planning and execution of satellite Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) activities

    • Supporting spacecraft sell-off activities and milestone reviews (ex. Test Readiness Review)

    • Supporting enterprise level integration & test planning and execution.

    • Providing on-site technical and programmatic support to the customer.

     

    What You Need to be Successful

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics or science field

    • A minimum of 8 years engineering experience

    • Familiarity with satellite Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T)

    • Demonstrated sound problem solving skills and judgment.

    • Ability to communicate and build close working relationships with the customer, SETA and prime contractor

    • Willing to support frequent travel (typically 1-2 weeks per month)

    • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

    • Advanced degree in relevant engineering, mathematics or science field

    • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for space vehicle assembly, as well as functional, performance and environmental testing

    • Knowledge of best practices for conducting requirements verification, milestone reviews, anomaly investigation and failure review boards

    • Demonstrated success leading teams

    • Strong communication skills and be able to effectively coordinate exchanges between technical staff and the customer and management staff
