Aerospace is seeking a strategic, innovative, and driven leaderfor theEnterprise Architectures Subdivisionwithin the Space Systems Architect Division.
ThePrincipal Directorfor the Enterprise Architecturessubdivisionis responsible for leading and managing Aerospace efforts in support of, and advising customer leadership of,theSpace Systems Command (SSC) Space Systems Architect (ZA)System of Systems Design(SSC/ZAEE), Mission Assurance (SSC/ZAEM), and Digital Engineering (SSC/ZAED)organizations.The Principal Director aligns under the Assistant General Manager for the Space Enterprise Portfolio.
Thework program includes design, synchronization and implementationof the overall DoD space systems of systems architecture;enterprisesystem of systems engineering;SSCspecialtyengineering;SSCtestauthority;enterprisemission assurance; anddigital engineering strategiesandsupportingintegrationand adoptionof those strategiesthroughoutthe enterprise.
This position requires strong collaboration across SSC, Space Development Agency (SDA), Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO) and withother acquisition, force design and requirementsagenciesto align the architecture design to USSF needs,ensure unity of effort,partner on enterprise engineeringand test, fulfill USSF digital service vision and otherwise ensure the success of the future integrated enterprise space architecture.The selected candidate will be expected to provide proactive support to the customer and cultivate productive working relationships in a fast-paced multi-organizational and multi-contractor environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and managing Aerospace support to SSC/ZAEE(Systems of Systems Design), ZAEM(Mission Assurance/SpecialtyEngineering/Test)and ZAED(Digital Engineering), including remote personnel,
- Building and sustaining a diverse and highly capable workforce through hiring, staff performance reviews, career development, and mentoring,
- Setting organizational and guiding individual goals and direction, monitoring progress and providing feedback for staff development,
- Providing proactive support to customers to identify high value work for the sub-division, translating customer requests into technical priorities and planning and managing the team accordingly, and
- Recommending budgets, allocating resources, establishing priorities and ensuring execution to plans and commitments.
- Partneringwith the SSC/ZAEE, ZAEM and ZAEDleadershipand aligning and guiding Aerospace resourcesonenterprisesystem of systems engineering,enterprise mission assurance,enterprisespecialtyengineering,command testauthority,anddigital engineering integration,
- Driving the transformation of Aerospace and customer work programs to a digital future,
- Providingtechnicalleadershipwithin teams of Government, Aerospace, support contractors, and other FFRDC personnel to further organizational objectives,
- Advisingon acquisition strategies, standards, and processeseffecting future architectures and operational integration to ensure successful delivery of warfighting capability that increasingly leverage enterprise solutions for improved efficiency and interoperability,and
- Reportingon the organization's activities, progress, and achievements through written and oral reports.
- Moderate level of travel may be required
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional engineering/scientific experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or an appropriate technical discipline
- Strong customer communication skills required to effectively engage customers and build a beneficial relationship
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with agility and collaboration
- Ability to make time-critical mission success decisions with ambiguous or incomplete data
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of external trends and can quickly identify the implications to inform or evolve a business strategy
- Experience in systems of systems engineeringor space(or similar)architecture design
- Active top-secret/SCIclearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
