FabFitFun is searching for a Packaging Engineer to join our Operations Team! Reporting to our Senior Manager, Packaging Engineering this new role will own the product vendor packaging engineering review and test process during Pre & Post-PO, as well as during production. Ideal candidates will have strong organizational and project management skills and previous experience with overseeing vendor compliance. 

What You’ll Do

• Project manage vendors to insure full compliance and quality expectation throughout entire packaging engineering review process 
• Provide guidance to vendor on packaging to mitigate damage risk and insure products survive entire supply chain
• Manage FabFitFun program with test labs
• Insure packaging transit testing for both inbound and outbound shipments are conducted for all products
• Establish priorities and communicate deliverables with internal stakeholders and product vendors to insure a successful product launch for all FFF products
• Partner with Fulfillment, Production and QC teams to insure consistent methodology is used in production of boxes and ecommerce to validate quality delivery of products to members
• Record, track, and communicate pack out exceptions for planning purposes
• Consult and guide vendors with their product packaging and validate that packaging is appropriate for product considering materials, costs, structural design, and product attributes
• Manage early engagement of product packaging attributes to insure a seamless launch
• Collaborate and consult with internal stakeholders on large sized items and high damage risk products
• Conduct additional in-house testing and review in conjunction to vendor lab testing when necessary

What You’ll Bring

• BS/BA or MA in Packaging Engineering or equivalent technical degree, such as Industrial Design with packaging experience
• 4+ years of experience in packaging design, engineering and/or manufacturing 
• Knowledge in multiple substrates such as corrugated boxes, paperboard folding cartons, glass
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage several vendors simultaneously
• General knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards
