We are redesigning mental healthcare through a digital platform and in-person experience, with our first mental health studio dedicated to women’s mental health opening later this fall. We’re looking for a Mobile Engineer who is passionate about mental wellness.

As an early employee, you’ll define and build the foundation of Real’s flagship iOS and Android applications. The ideal candidate is excited to both ideate on and create seamless end-to-end customer experiences for a first-of-its kind mental healthcare product. They pay special attention to building beautiful and performant mobile UIs and have a passion for writing beautiful code, championing software best practices across the engineering team. 

The role is remote friendly. 

In this role, you will:

• Be an integral part of a small engineering team building Real’s flagship React Native app  
• Be a technology domain expert on mobile
• Shape the future of Engineering at Real by championing software excellence and collaboration
• Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the software development lifecycle and processes
• Propose viable technical solutions to business needs that align with Real’s mission and values
• Scale by delegating effectively; ensure tasks are completed as specified without micromanaging

You have:

• 3-5 years of mobile development experience on iOS or React Native
• 1-2 years of experience with React Native
• Experience working with GraphQL and/or RESTful APIs specifically optimized for mobile clients
• Strong knowledge of Javascript and its nuances
• Comfort with native build tools like XCode and Gradle
• Experience building beautiful, pixel-perfect UIs across both iOS and Android platforms
• Experience with automated testing suites on mobile (Jest, etc)
• Experience working in a CI Environment (CircleCI, Jenkins, etc)
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning on at least one mobile platform
• An eagerness to expand your areas of expertise
• Experience building a mobile product from inception to launch (even if it’s a new product within a larger company)
• Consumer tech startup expertise where design and experience are highly valued
• Ability to think from the product and business side

• Full stack React experience
• Hospitality mindset and track record of success in a fast-paced health-tech organization
• Experience working with HIPAA or other healthcare privacy regulations
