WHY WE NEED YOU

The integration test manager is responsible for managing all aspects of VHO’s subsystem and system integration testing needs. This individual is expected to lead & grow a team of world class test engineers that are responsible for planning & executing all aspects of integration testing initiative for Hyperloop systems. The candidate will be responsible for leading integration of technical systems, staffing plans, fiscal planning, resource and project planning and reporting.  This individual will be required to interact with engineering resources within the Core Engineering Organization and the Product Development and Systems Engineering organizations. This individual is also accountable for Process and Procedural Development including continuous improvement activities. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work closely with the design & systems engineering teams to define the integration strategy for Hyperloop systems
  • Lead a team of engineers to define, plan, coordinate, and execute integration test programs to meet company milestones
  • Play a key role in the build up from subsystem level to vehicle & system level integration
  • Implement & continually improve effective integration test strategies, methodologies and processes
  • Lead & grow the integration testing team
  • Define and implement test facility build outs to support integration testing needs
  • Provide effective leadership and manage employee and organizational expectations
  • Mentor direct reports on “best practices” and engineering principles
  • Develop fiscal and project specific budget plans; provide regular updates on spend, budgetary adjustments and justifications for new capital requirements
  • Work closely with the Engineering Project Management Office to ensure schedules, risks and issues are consistent and up to date
  • Establish and maintain a safe, collaborative and team-oriented work environment
  • Identify opportunities in the test group to improve test capabilities and procedures to achieve increased efficiency
  • Wear multiple hats and be willing to work hands-on with lab equipment depending on the needs of the program
  • Travel as needed to support testing needs at our Las Vegas test site

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • Extensive experience with test engineering management in a highly-integrated software/hardware environment
  • Proven experience in creating, managing, and executing end-to-end delivery of test programs from ideation to closure in a rapid development environment; ideally in system testing on complex technologies in a lead/manager role
  • Experience in developing requirements-driven test plans and procedures
  • Experience with selection & procurement of test instrumentation, including: pressure transducers, load cells, thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, laser sensors, and more
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Strong management skills with several years of managing multi-disciplined high performing teams
  • Strong communication, presentation and technical writing skills
  • Budget planning and reporting
  • Willing to travel as needed to support testing needs at our Las Vegas test site

NICE TO HAVE

  • B.S., M.S. or advanced degree in Engineering or equivalent field
  • Experience testing and qualifying safety critical systems (familiar with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262, EN 50126, DO 178, etc.)
  • Experience managing large scale testing projects from inception through closure
  • Experience with testing, qualification, or certification of rail systems
