THE PURPOSE:
The Manager, FP&A - Engineering will lead the FP&A process for the engineering functions at Virgin Hyperloop One (VHO). This is a key finance role with executive level visibility, and will be responsible for leading and supporting the Manufacturing R&D efforts at VHO. The successful candidate will facilitate communications across the organization, delivering insightful financial analyses and reports to internal and external parties.

THE ROLE:
• Lead the annual department budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process for VHOs Engineering teams
• Manage the cost estimation process for product development
• Develop and maintains monthly financial reports in collaboration with the Accounting team
• Collaborate with accounting, manufacturing and supply chain on inventory management and planning/purchasing activities
• Analyze and interpret financial reports and historical trends, for use in management reviews and decisions
• Review financial reports on a monthly basis with engineering leads to fully understand financials and future plans
• Create and update financial analysis and reporting models and tools
• Lead the implementation and roll-out of planning and reporting tool
• Recommend and implement improvements to the reporting and forecasting process

THE CANDIDATE:

• Maintains the highest standards of accuracy and precision
• Possesses excellent communication skills -- must be capable of presenting analytical results in verbal and written form across a multi-disciplinary organization
• Demonstrates ability to frame unstructured and complex analytical problems
• Understands outsourcing processes and models
• Establishes positive relationships and work effectively across all areas of the company, from engineers to the C-suite.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Engineering
• Proven track record of successfully managing FP&A teams in a Manufacturing company
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• Experience creating diverse financial reports, modeling structures, and tools
• Experience with FP&A, financial reporting, analytics, and modeling
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• MBA/CFA/CPA a plus
• Master user of MS Excel
• Experience scaling the FP&A function from R&D to production within a manufacturing setting
• Previous startup experience working in the aerospace, automotive and/or manufacturing industry
• Strong presentation and leadership skills
• Experience with Financial Reporting Systems
• Experience implementing an ERP System
