We are a (venture backed) early-stage startup that needs a rockstar engineer, creative problem solver, hacker and someone that is passionate about building technology for The future of work.
We are a small but globally distributed team and have office space in Century City as well as co-working stipends for you to work in your area.
We are on the cutting edge and our roadmap includes exciting features powered by machine learning and AI based nudges. Experience and strength with building analytics charts/dashboards will be greatly advantageous.
We’re looking for a technologist who’s going to take this startup to the next level. Someone that has enough experience to approach the challenge but still has the hunger and energy in them to push through it! Someone who is not new to the whole ‘startup thing’ and thrives off building amazing products with superior user experiences.
The joy of seeing people use and love your product, something that you built is priceless, but a good chunk of equity in a company isn’t. We aren’t looking for someone purely motivated by cash, however we know nobody as talented as you would be willing to take the risk of joining an early stage startup without the potential upside. (startups are being acquired in our space on a monthly basis, just saying...) Salary will be discussed on a per needs basis and will be a mix of cash and equity. We always make sure everyone’s financial needs are met and there is no financial stress to worry our team whilst they are dedicating their time and energy to building this awesome company together.
About you:
- People have told you things like “you are the fastest developer I've ever worked with!"

- You are passionate about making work better and improving old school ways of team collaboration and people management.
- You have experience with connecting multiple applications through APIs and generating analytics dashboards.
- You love hacking things together and would rather it’s done than perfect.
- Not everything was given to you in life and you had to be resourceful to get to where you are.
- You’re constantly learning new technologies and experimenting with unknown territories.
- You’re skilled in breaking down problems and coming up with solutions that are clearly planned/spelled out.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in professional software development
- 2+ years of professional experience building APIs
- Familiarity with SQL databases and query languages
- Experience with building and operating software in the cloud (AWS, plus a bit of Azure)
- Experience with automated testing (unit, functional, and integration tests)
The Role
Working directly alongside the CTO and CEO, your job will be to mainly own the backend part of Perflo as well as be intimately familiar with all of it's connections in order to be able to lead a team toward reaching product goals. This is a coding job not a managing job but there will be some elements of leadership required when it comes to mentorship and peer coaching mainly on the technical side. This role comes with heaps of autonomy and requires a person who is self driven and thrives in environments that allow for initiative.
The Tech
We have a 3 part application: (Perflo web app/Slack bot/Microsoft Teams bot). We send out prompts to users and gather data within Slack and Teams based on what the admin user sets up in the Perflo app and then we generate analytics on our front end based on the data from Slack / Teams users.
