WHY WE NEED YOU

The Process Development team serves as a cross-functional bridge within the company, enabling the development and production of Hyperloop hardware. From early prototyping to mass production, Manufacturing Process Development Engineers work together with Design Engineers, Project Managers, Test Engineers, and external partners to bring innovative design concepts to reality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Solve difficult and complex engineering problems collaboratively with limited supervision the power electronics and battery systems
• Directly manage one to two engineers or technicians; oversee projects for the team, manage workloads, and mentor team members
• Function as a key subject-matter expert on the process of building power electronic components, box assemblies, battery modules, and battery packs
• Research, design, prototype, and develop new manufacturing processes ranging the entire spectrum from inception to full scale production
• Provide design for manufacturing and assembly feedback to the Product Development Engineering team
• Utilize 2D/3D CAD software to communicate concepts, design basic development fixtures and equipment, and manufacturing process layouts
• Write standard operating procedures, manuals, and safety documentation for manufacturing processes.
• Work alongside the Procurement team to manage relationships with external vendors for component and assembly builds
• Responsibilities may include project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and communicating project information
• Other projects as assigned
  

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

• 5+ years working on electronic assembly or battery pack manufacturing, process engineering, or process development
• Experience working in a leadership position
• Proven experience managing external vendors
• Track record of managing multiple projects
• Ability to interpret & understand complex part and assembly drawings and electrical schematics
• Ability to make effective decisions and communicate reasoning
  

NICE TO HAVE

• BS or higher in engineering field
• 2+ years in a leadership or management position
• Experience managing direct reports
• Familiarity with high voltage systems and associated safety equipment and procedures
• Proficiency in GD&T
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD and ability to interpret & create complex part and assembly drawings
• Six Sigma and Kaizen experience
• Hands on fabrication experience
• Experience with manufacturing tooling procurement, setup, and commissioning
