We are looking for an exceptional technology leader who will work with the executive leadership team to best align business and technology strategy to drive the success of the new venture we are launching: a data analytics and insights platform that will transform heavy construction fleet management and drive significant cost savings for fleet owners. Tapping into existing and proprietary data, our venture will deliver actionable insights right to fleet managers so that they can effectively cut down on fuel costs, manage asset depreciation, limit costly repairs, and increase jobsite efficiency. In addition to leveraging existing OEM data sources, we are designing a proprietary IOT hardware device that will provide unique equipment data beyond basic telematics which will both differentiate and establish ADAM as the leading provider for connected fleet solutions.

Supported by BCGDV, backed by an international conglomerate, and tapping into existing assets and dealer networks, this venture is well positioned and funded to fundamentally change how construction fleets are managed and utilized.

What you'll do:

• Set the technical vision and build the technical product roadmap from launch to scale; including defining long-term goals and strategies
• Continue consistent development of the technical roadmap to be at the cutting edge of the market, and a differentiated offering in the long run
• Provide expert technical guidance to all functional areas, including strategy, operations, sales and product
• Work with Product and other key stakeholders to ensure a unified strategy

Drive Growth:

• Drive continuous product improvement
• Identify opportunities and challenges in the market with constant evaluation of technological advancements and innovation to mitigate impediments and drive success
• Lead ecosystem partnerships and relationships as senior technical expert to drive growth

Drive Excellence:

• Effectively align resources to achieve key business priorities, including appropriate scope, high quality and timely product releases
• Proactively mitigate business, operational and governance risks
• Ensure all internal processes and external services comply with security and privacy regulations
• Develop an enterprise-wide information security plan to ensure the security of all company assets and data, as well as disaster recovery and continuity plan
• Build an efficient and agile end-to-end application infrastructure, with best practices in software delivery
• Define and implement a consistent and repeatable process for quality assurance across all areas of organization and product build

• Attract and retain a team of world-class engineers
• Cultivate a high performing, one-team engineering culture emphasizing innovation, growth, and development
• Evangelize technical vision and strategy internally and externally

As Head of Engineering, you will need:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with the majority of that time at a high growth tech company; experience managing engineering teams for at least 5 years
• Hands-on and able to architect and capable of driving decisions through code reviews and design reviews
• Experience leading and scaling a high growth start-up
• An entrepreneurial spirit that can operate independently with little direction
• Proven track record of demonstrating ability to scale and build large engineering teams from scratch
• Proven track record of bringing highly-rated mobile and web applications to market in a startup environment
• Experience with software best practices in:
• Continuous integration/continuous deployment
• Middleware/ Event driven architecture/ Microservices based architecture/Software design patterns for building reliable, scalable, secure, and high performant systems
• Experience designing, manufacturing, and bringing IOT hardware to market

Relevant technology experience:

• 5+ years working with big data and analytics

Working knowledge of :

• Serverless and microservices architecture using API Gateway and Lambdas written in NodeJS
• Data pipeline using Amazon Kinesis 
• Analytics using Spark 
• Big data storage using HBase
• Mobile app development and deployment with React Native
• Web app development and deployment with ReactJS
• TDD withCucumber, Selenium, Jest, Mocha
• SQL, NoSQL - mongo db, elastic search
