About The Role and Your Impact:

Emotive’s engineering team is growing rapidly and we are looking for strong engineering leadership to build and grow the team as we deliver on an exciting product roadmap.

Our tech stack is composed of Python/Django, React and AWS cloud services solutions.

How You Will Contribute:

• Serve as a strategic engineering leader and technical expert for one or more engineering teams by creating an environment where engineers are empowered and supported to do their best work
• Ensure teams are maintaining rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
• Drive and ensure the execution of the organization’s vision and standards around security, quality, observability and clean code
• Motivate the team in creative ways and promote a culture of continuous learning and development
• Ensure the timely delivery of team projects and remove any impediments as they arise
• Collaborate with other leaders across the organization to identify, leverage, and evangelize opportunities to improve productivity, reliability, quality and efficiency of the system
• Support your team as they tackle hard problems and ensure a holistic, sound technical approach is followed
• Participate in customer escalations and customer calls, as needed, to ensure optimal resolution of current and future issues
• Provide technical and non technical guidance and coaching on engineers’ career paths in support of their professional development
• Evaluate staffing needs and ensure a pipeline of talent with a focus on diversity
• Represent the technology perspective and priorities to leadership and other stakeholders by continuously communicating timeline, scope, risks and technical roadmap
  

Skills You Will Bring: 

• At least 2 years of management experience building and leading successful software engineering teams 
• Proven track record implementing engineering best practices and holding high standards for code quality
• Previous experience working with our tech stack (Python/Django and React) preferred, but open to additional languages including Ruby and/or Node.js
• Excellent knowledge of the new technology trends and its applications for driving engineering excellence
• Solid database experience in SQL, NoSQL and event streaming technologies
• Customer focus and quality first mindset
• Experience solving challenging technical problems with a focus on throughput and fast response time
• Strong communication skills
