Engineering Manager
ENGINEERING MANAGER sought by FabFitFun, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA.
Duties: Manage a team of software engineers. Represent the team in cross organizational meetings. Participate in Sprint related meetings such as standup, planning, costing, lead review, retrospective. Responsible for hiring for direct team as well as assisting in hiring across the rest of the engineering organization. Responsible for code reviews, facilitating technical architectural discussions, and cross team integration details. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software application solutions for the company's payment systems. Advise on key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions. Advocate for and grow our teams processes and best practices. Encourage technical and professional development, and for team members to write blog posts, give presentations, and talk about FabFitFun's technology outside of FabFitFun. Work with other Engineering teams, ensuring requirements are considered and met for cross team projects. This position supervises five (5) individuals: one (1) Lead Senior Software Engineer and four (4) Software Engineers.

Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field., plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation. Must have knowledge or experience in: leading a team of software engineers; leading and managing software development, technical requirements gathering and planning, conducting code reviews, assigning tasks and tickets; full life cycle project management; using Agile environment including sprint planning and scrum; Java language with JUnit, Relational MySQL database; web services architecture deployed on cloud; software architectures and design patterns; and quality assessment based on Test Driven Development and unit testing.
