Fair's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how millions of users access mobility. Our products need to reliably and efficiently handle information at scale, and process millions of dollars with precision. We're looking for highly motivated engineers who have a passion to help build out a world class automotive platform. As we are dealing with individual transactions totalling thousands of dollars overall representing millions of dollars flowing in and out of our company, our billing and payments infrastructure must be airtight.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team to work on multiple projects critical to Fair’s needs towards that end, providing more payment options to customers, providing guarantees of payment towards our lenders, and ensuring the data is backed up by our accounting systems. You will work with business stakeholders, other engineering leads, and a Director of Engineering to build custom integration architecture from the ground up, with an eye towards stability, performance and automation. Additionally, we’ll look to you to provide overall architecture guidance and vision for the other engineers in your team and to collaborate with other engineering leaders to facilitate cross-team communication. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team to oversee integrations and automated data ingestion
• Provide mentorship, guidance, feedback, and facilitate career growth to a team of engineers.
• Architect and build custom integration architecture from the ground up
• Research and develop technology solutions through collaboration with business users and other technology staff
• Perform root cause analysis on major problems and recurring issues
• Conduct internal testing to validate custom designed solutions and effectively perform user acceptance testing
• Experience with custom integration architecture 

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience with Python.
• 1+ years practical experience leading an engineering team
• Knowledgeable in relational database architecture and methods
• Experienced in developing complex SQL queries
• Experience leading a remote team of engineers.
• Solid communication skills communicating to both engineers and business.
• Strong skills in systems architecture.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 5+ engineers.
• Prior experience working in billing or payments systems.
• Experience in test automation and/or data auditing.
• Experience working with Kubernetes along with AWS infrastructure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
