Responsibilities
Provides direction and coordination for activities of subordinate staff. Coordinates organization activities and operations with line management and counterpart organizations and participates in day-to-day accomplishment of organization’s tasks.
Key Functions
- Planning and leading analysis using project management and collaboration software applications for workflow management
- Establishing goals consistent with management's vision and objectives
- Developing and executing strategic planning for continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and expanding the customer base
- Standardizing lab processes, operating procedures and lab operations to support all customers with defined operations, including schedule and task charging expectations
- Conducting staff performance assessment and making recommendations for career development
- Developing and maintaining strong and effective working relations with other corporate organizations, internal and external customers, and contractors
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of capabilities, operating procedures, and infrastructure processes
Required
- Degree from an accredited university in an appropriate technical discipline
- 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
- Working knowledge of electronic parts, materials & processes failure analysis tools and methods
- Demonstrated technical leadership and strong interpersonal skills to interact with peers, internal and external customers, and contractor representatives
- Working knowledge of software tools for agile project management and collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to clearly define technical tasks, form and lead technical teams, establish priorities and motivate outstanding performance
- Current Top Secret Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance or the ability to obtain one (US citizenship required)
- Ability to travel required: up to 30%.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
- Extensive knowledge of software tools for agile project management and collaboration Program office or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role developing staff and facilitating their efforts toward identifying requirements to exceed customer expectations
- Extensive knowledge of tools and methods for failure analysis of spacecraft parts, materials & processes
- Current Top Secret Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance
- Basic knowledge of systems engineering processes and supporting mission assurance disciplines for national security space
- Demonstrated ability to meet administrative, budgetary and technical constraints, and schedules
