Team and Role Overview:

Relativity seeks a highly talented software leadership to join a rapidly growing space startup. This position will lead the effort to develop both the software to fly the rocket and the software that interfaces to the rocket to support test and launch operations for the Terran 1 launch vehicle. The main responsibility will be to build the team and processes needed to architect and develop the software to operate and fly the vehicle. 

 

 

The Mission/Outcomes and Objectives:

Our mission is to change the people’s conception of the way rockets are built and flown. As the Avionics Director of Integrated Software, you will have a large impact on the Terran 1 launch vehicle software. You will lead the development of flight software, test site software and launch software in partnership with Vehicle Systems, launch ops and test ops teams. Software is an integral part of the launch vehicle and its operation, and requires deep care and attention to detail in order to fulfill our mission of changing how rockets are built and flown.

 

Minimum Required Skills and Competencies

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience leading a software development effort
  • Demonstrated ability developing high-criticality software, including setting up the process to develop it
  • Experience with C/C++ or similar language
  • Embedded Linux/RTOS experience


Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Experience developing software through its entire life-cycle
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment
  • Experience working on launch vehicle software
  • Background of developing both high level and embedded solutions
  • Development of safety critical software


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
