Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Director for the Social Casino suite. As Technical Director, you will manage and drive the strategic direction for team leads, helping them in developing, task planning and leading both on the technical and organizational aspects. You will also assist with the management of resources in other areas such as architecture, devops and data engineering.

You will own technical design and be responsible for the development and operational execution of the games within the Social Casino suite. You will create a working environment where top technical talent will thrive, and you will lead your team to deliver a top-tier suite of products & services that will delight our advertisers and customers. We are looking for a leader with strong technical acumen who can not only suggest new technologies but also enhance our current technology and raise the acumen of our technical staff. You will work closely with senior product owners and stakeholders to help execute the core product roadmap and report directly to the VP of Games. 

• Plan, direct, and coordinate game development activities with the production teams.
• You will also work to hire great new talent, while continuing to mentor and manage our amazing technical staff.
• Develop and interpret technical goals for new games.
• Support development of new games across multiple platforms.
• Provide technical guidance to the development team for the company’s top-rated games. Review and make recommendations of external developer code as needed.
• Work with project manager/scrum master to ensure assigned dates are met.
• Also, work with development teams to design, scope and schedule features.
• Work with fast-paced initiatives, overseeing projects from idea conception and strategy development to deployment, production, and operations.
• Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of platforms
• Research and apply emerging game development technology to keep the studio creating industry leading games. Integrate new features on games.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven experience as the Technical Director, Director of Engineering or Manager of Software Engineering, preferably at a game development company
• 5+ years of experience in developing mobile applications or similar game development experience (Unity is a definite plus)
• Experience leading mid-size to large development teams to extraordinary success
• Extensive understanding of agile methodology as well as waterfall project management, along with the judgment of how and when to tweak them both- we are not rigid.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in project management, setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiency, and guiding investment in people and systems
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Formal degree (BS or MS) in computer science, or equivalent professional experience
