About the Role:
If being the first DevOps engineer on a fast growing team is an adventure you’d like to go on, and you want to help revolutionize the way people pay their bills, we need your help.
As our first DevOps Engineer, you will have an outsized impact on everything we do. You’ll help us build core systems and infrastructure used by the rest of the engineering team. You’ll collaborate with the team to create a DevOps roadmap and then implement it. We’ll rely on you to make us more efficient, to make our infrastructure reliable, scalable and secure. In addition to DevOps best practices, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of or interest in learning about cloud security best practices too.
Teamwork, flexibility, communication, and a willingness to learn are of the highest importance. Papaya believes that diversity helps build an inclusive culture where all team members can grow, contribute, and feel valued. If you agree, we’d love to hear from you!
What you would be doing:
- Evaluate the current state of our CI/CD practices and identify areas for improvement
- Improve automation, scalability, monitoring and security for our core infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering in the design and implementation of new infrastructure and applications
We’d like to hear from candidates with:
- 2+ years experience provisioning, managing and operating AWS infrastructure
- Nuanced understanding of DevOps best practices, having played a role in implementing them previously
We’d be especially excited if you have led DevOps from the ground up at a startup or worked on a team that did DevOps really well. If you have prior experience in Security, Fintech and/or Healthtech, don’t forget to mention it.
