WHY WE NEED YOU

  • The EPMO team is responsible for managing all aspects of the program engineering and manufacturing of all Virgin Hyperloop program equipment. In your role as BOM/CAD Checker you will support the EPMO & product engineering team by eliminating drawing errors prior to fabrications and fully mitigating the risk of drawing errors.
  • You will be responsible for checking Bills of Material (BOMs) and CAD drawings as needed. In your role will be required to interact with the Engineering Project Management Office and teams across the product design engineering

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will be responsible for working within Teamcenter to locate the drawing files, opening them, and printing hard copies of drawings.
  • You will validate the Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure that all components on the BOMs are at the proper revision level per the latest released drawings.
  • You will also be looking to ensure that the parts called out will mate together where applicable.
  • You will not be checking the designs of the 3D part models nor any dimensions or GD&T, unless something is obviously incorrect on the drawing.
  • Overall, you will ensure the validity of the BOMs on each drawing for an assembly and its associated detail drawings.
  • Ensure best practices, methods, standards, and processes are followed within the mechanical design team.
  • Research and integration of off the shelf components, actuators, and sensors.
  • Effectively mark-up drawings & design specifications.
  • Validate and verify design requirements.
  • Interface with internal support functions, external consultants and vendors.
  • You will have effective verbal & written communication skills.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • 8-10 years of experience in active mechanical or aerospace design experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and methodologies.
  • Proficient in 3D model generation, component, and assembly print generation.
  • 3-5 years of working in NX or equivalent 3D CAD environment.
  • 3-5 years of working with & navigating within Teamcenter experience working with minimal guidance.
  • Multiple years of experience in mechanisms design with the ability to showcase your expertise.
  • Extensive experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practices.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Problem solver with detailed research experience.
  • Experience within an aerospace, railway, automotive, or defense organization.
  • Experience using Siemens Unigraphics NX 8 or higher
  • Experience using SharePoint or similar collaboration tool
