Company Overview:

Relativity seeks a highly talented Electrical CAD Administrator to join a rapidly growing space startup. This position will provide outstanding technical engineering in the design and release of the electrical harnessing on the Terran-1 Launch Vehicle.

Team:

As an Electrical CAD Administrator, you will be responsible for designing electrical harnessing and routing these harnesses in CAD on the vehicle. You will own and oversee the maintenance of electrical CAD and integration of third party tools, ensuring that the avionics integration team can accomplish their work effectively and in a timely manner. You will troubleshoot problems that arise with this toolchain and work with other Teamcenter administrators to make sure that all parts are in compliance with corporate standards and goals.

What you’ll do:

The ideal candidate is someone that is excited to work on electrical harnessing and mechanical components, but is also constantly looking to acquire more skills to enhance their abilities to perform these and related functions. They should be able to use CAD skills to design, route, and create drafted formboards for electrical harnesses. They should be intimately familiar with NX and Teamcenter to be able to model connector, backshells, and off the shelf hardware in a manner that is sustainable and easily maintainable throughout the life of the vehicle programs. The candidate should be inquisitive and learn how to effectively integrate other harnessing tools with NX and export relevant manufacturing data. A successful candidate should be an effective communicator, be respectful, strive to achieve compromise, and be flexible with their schedule. They should be able to work largely autonomously in their administrative role, seeking input from team members on trade options and then executing on their own.

What you need to know:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/MS/PhD) in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent and 2+ years relevant experience
  • Electrical harness design and manufacturing experience
  • Electrical harness routing and mechanical modeling experience with NX and Teamcenter

Nice to haves but not required – if you do not meet all of these criteria, you should still apply:

  • Zuken E3 experience
  • NX drafting experience
  • Teamcenter and NX maintenance and customization experience
  • Experience designing for launch vehicle, large system, or ruggedized environments
  • Structural design and analysis experience
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment
  • Python scripting experience
  • Excellent communication skills
