About this team:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our SpringServe UI/API team to help ensure quality is baked into the entire Software Development Lifecycle. The SpringServe UI team owns configuration and reporting for SpringServe (a world class ad server) and Clearline (an advertising buying platform), as well as some internal tools. This position will collaborate closely with Product and Project Management, Development, Release Engineering and other Quality Engineering teams to improve the testing process, ensure quality and provide confidence in our releases.
As a Quality Engineer You Will:
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product and development teams to identify, assess, and address technical, business, and process-related issues that impact quality.
Validate Front-End Functionality: Execute manual and automated tests focused on validating UI behaviors, layout consistency, and client-side logic across web and mobile environments.
Document and Report Issues: Log detailed, reproducible bugs and help prioritize fixes by communicating effectively with developers and product managers.
Support UI Automation: Collaborate with engineers to maintain and extend UI automation coverage using tools such as Playwright.
Troubleshoot & Debug: Utilize strong troubleshooting skills to isolate and resolve issues, perform root cause analysis, and validate bug fixes to ensure smooth releases.
Contribute Innovation & Research: Stay at the forefront of testing technology by researching and developing proofs of concept for new tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Participate in Release Testing: Run smoke tests and verify the stability of new front-end features during release cycles, ensuring high-quality deployments.
Grow in the Ad Tech Domain: Learn about the ad tech ecosystem, including programmatic auctions, creative rendering flows, and privacy compliance requirements.
We’re looking for someone with:
Quality Engineering Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in software QA.
Front-End Testing Mindset: You care deeply about user experience, layout precision, and visual fidelity, and are comfortable catching visual defects, animation glitches, or broken interactivity.
Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript Familiarity: You understand how front-end technologies work and can identify common issues in DOM structure, styling, or browser console logs.
UI Debugging Skills: Comfortable using browser developer tools to inspect elements, review network traffic, and debug client-side issues.
Detail-Oriented: You’re the kind of person who notices when a pixel is off, when a hover effect is broken, or when an animation doesn’t play smoothly.
Tool Proficiency: Experience or willingness to learn front-end QA tools like Playwright, Percy (for visual regression), Lighthouse (for performance/accessibility), and cross-browser testing platforms like BrowserStack.
Team Collaborator: Willing to work closely with front-end engineers and product managers to ensure a polished final experience.
Nice to Have:
Experience with the Ad Tech industry
Experience with Visual Regression Tools: Familiarity with tools like Percy, Applitools, or Chromatic for detecting visual UI changes
Familiarity with Browser Compatibility Issues: Experience identifying and debugging rendering differences between browsers or devices.
Basic Git Knowledge: Ability to clone repositories, create branches, and review simple changes to front-end code or automation scripts.
Comfort with Agile Workflows: Experience working in a sprint-based, agile QA process using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
Knowledge of Accessibility Standards: Awareness of WCAG guidelines and experience testing for accessibility using tools like Axe or Lighthouse
