The Front-end Experiences organization at HashiCorp exists to enable and support the engineering and design delivery of accessible, high-quality UIs through a focus on tooling, infrastructure, design systems, education, and culture. The organization is responsible for Helios, HashiCorp’s design system, our accessibility program, the long-term reliability and stability of our UIs, and more. The organization acts as a center of excellence to support the front-end engineers and designers across all of HashiCorp R&D.

About the role

As a member of Front-end Experience’s Foundations team, you will help support the long-term reliability and stability of our front-end UIs focused on things like security, dependency management, developer experience, and driving consistent UI engineering processes between products, serving to enable their focus on delivering product features

What you’ll do (responsibilities):
  • Identify and act on opportunities to leave our product UIs better than you found them
  • Contribute to dependency upgrades and tooling changes. Help update applications to use the latest Ember.js patterns, improve performance, and modernize codebases. 
  • Adoption of HashiCorp Design System in our applications and layout patterns to enhance UI consistency and performance.
  • Take the initiative to lead medium-sized frontend projects. Work collaboratively with team members to plan, execute, and deliver solutions. Actively participate in design and architecture discussions. 
  • Strive for quality through maintainable code and comprehensive testing from development to deployment. 
What you’ll need (basic qualifications):
  • Have production experience working on an application using a JavaScript framework (e.g. Ember.js), building responsive layouts with CSS and HTML
  • Be familiar with web accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
  • Strong collaboration skills and an ability to build productive relationships with a diverse range of partners
  • Communicate clearly while remaining empathetic and kind
  • Have an eagerness to learn through humility and reflection

  • Introductory Call with someone from our recruiting team
  • First Interview with the Hiring Manager
  • Interview Loop with additional team members that touch on the following:
    • Code Review Exercise
    • Pair Programming Exercise
    • Communication & Collaboration

Although we use Ember.js at HashiCorp, our interviews are available in Ember or React. The use of AI during interviews is prohibited.

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.

The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$151,300$178,000 USD
The base pay range for this role in California (excluding SF Bay Area), New York (excluding NYC), Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, Washington D.C., or Maryland is:
$138,600$163,100 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro), Illinois, Minnesota, or Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$126,100$148,300 USD
