Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for an Embedded Software Engineer OR a Principal Embedded Software Engineer at its Subsystem and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Embedded Software Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting our B-1B Electronic Warfare Software Program. You will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers focused on the modernization and sustainment of the ALQ-161 system for the B-1B platform. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is located in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, modify, and maintain embedded software using software engineering best practices and standards. 

  • Participate in the full life cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, software development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.

  • Apply technical expertise in solving complex integrations problems.

  • Frequent opportunities to interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers, therefore excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential to succeeding in this role

**This position may be filled at the Engineer Embedded Software OR Principal Engineer Embedded Software level.

Basic Qualifications for Engineer Embedded Software:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 0-1 year of direct relevant experience with Masters degree; PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline.

  • Proficient in C/C++ and/or Ada programming languages

  • Proficient in all areas of the formal software lifecycle process from requirements to testing

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

Basic Qualifications for Principal Engineer Embedded Software:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline and 5 years of direct relevant experience; OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 3 years of direct relevant experience with Masters degree; Minimum of 1 years of direct relevant experience with PhD.

  • Proficient in C/C++ and/or Ada programming languages

  • Proficient in all areas of the formal software lifecycle process from requirements to testing

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering

  • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design

  • Experience programming in Ada

  • Experience using JIRA/Bitbucket and Git

  • Experience working in a fast pace, Agile environment with the ability to work on a cross-functional Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

  • Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW) principles

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range: $75,300.00 - $112,900.00Salary Range 2: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
