Resource Innovations is seeking an Intern to join our growing team in Chicago, IL. As an Intern you will support our Market Research and Business Administration efforts in key areas such as Virtual Power Plants (VPP), micromobility, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X), and smart home technologies. The intern will conduct comprehensive market research to develop informed capture strategies and assist in creating toolkits for load flexibility and transportation electrification practice areas. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market research and business strategy while contributing to innovative projects in the energy and transportation sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research into domains such as demand response, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), micromobility, V2X, and smart home technologies to build capture strategies
  • Develop toolkits for load flexibility and Transportation Electrification (TE) practice areas such as marketing one-pagers, slides, calculators, outreach material, OEM and partner strategy material, launch playbook, etc.
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures and materials for load flexibility and transportation electrification teams
  • Assist in drafting proposal language for Load flexibility/TE practice areas
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Marketing, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis concepts and techniques, with a willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, or similar software) is preferred. Experience with reporting software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus,
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
  • Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment and support various projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.

Preferred skills, education and experience

  • Experience with PowerPoint and Excel functions, formulas, and pivot tables
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deliverables, while remaining flexible.
