ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell active eyewear for anyone. No Slip. No Bounce. All Polarized. All Fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • HYBRID WORKING: Most roles are only required to be in the Inglewood office every Tuesday and Thursday with the occasional third day thrown in.
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: We have an all-company learning program so that we’re constantly leveling up our skills.

SUSTAINABILITY: We think Earth’s pretty rad. That’s why we take action wherever possible to limit our impact on the planet.

  • 1% FOR THE PLANET MEMBER: 1% of goodr’s annual sales go directly to environmental organizations.
  • CARBON NEUTRAL: In 2019, goodr became a 100% carbon neutral company.

Fun Fact: Each year we create limited-edition sunglasses made from 100% recycled materials called “These Shades are Trash.” Check out a pair and join the movement!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Attention athletic enthusiasts! We’re on the hunt for an Endurance Sports Marketing Manager to help manage our brand initiatives in running, cycling, trail, track, ultra marathons, triathlons, and beyond. Although your main focus will be managing our run community and growth initiatives, we’re also looking for someone who’s obsessed with the entire endurance space. You love building authentic relationships? Sick! You get pumped anytime you develop new (and maintain existing) partnerships with athletes, events, and communities? Look no further!

This position is the golden connection between goodr and the endurance community both locally in the SoCal region and throughout the rest of the world. So if you live for logging miles, shaving minutes off your personal best, proudly rocking spandex, and believe that every finish line deserves a frosty cold one, this might just be your dream job. On your mark. Get set. Apply!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as goodr’s center of excellence for all things related to run including: partnered athletes, marathon city-themed goodr products, race/event sponsorships, community run club initiatives, social media management, and so much more
  • Act as goodr’s in-house endurance sports ambassador and subject-matter expert, serving as the key connection point between the brand and the endurance sports community
  • Identify and develop opportunities to amplify goodr’s presence within the endurance community on both a regional and national level
  • Lead, advise, and manage endurance sports marketing initiatives—from strategy and budgeting to execution—ensuring alignment with brand goals across key sports categories
  • Develop new partnership opportunities that align with goodr’s brand and vision; negotiate, manage, and maintain contracts with athletes, clubs, and events
  • Recommend strategic partners that can help enhance goodr’s marketing initiatives and brand storytelling throughout the year
  • Build authentic relationships within the run & endurance community through social engagement, activations, and partnerships
  • Ideate and execute endurance sports-related campaigns in collaboration with internal teams including Social Media, Media, Communications, and Public Relations
  • Contribute endurance-focused content to our brand social accounts: @goodr and @sportsgoodr
  • Represent goodr at endurance-focused events—from local triathlons and major city marathons to industry tradeshows—helping to educate and inspire the endurance community
  • about our products and brand
  • Be an active, collaborative, and supportive member of the Sports Marketing & Partnerships team, contributing to the overall success of the team and company
  • Monitor online community sentiment and provide insights on ways to strengthen and maintain positive brand perception within the endurance community
  • No direct reports – you get to lead the category, without managing your fellow flamingos
  • This position is in the Sports Marketing & Partnerships and reports to the Director of Sports Marketing & Partnerships
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • May or may not have a degree…we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
  • Is completely obsessed with the endurance space and deeply integrated in the endurance community
  • Brings 3+ years of proven experience in sports marketing, ideally at a consumer brand within the endurance or run world
  • Has hands-on experience managing athlete contracts and relationships
  • Understands the power of social media and community management in the sports category—especially endurance
  • Loves thinking outside the box when it comes to marketing strategies, partnerships, athlete deals, and budgets
  • Is focused on building brand awareness in creative, unique, and disruptive ways
  • Is a strong communicator who knows how to represent and speak on behalf of a brand
  • Asks a lot of questions and thrives on creative thinking
  • Is open and available to travel for events as needed (less than 10% of the time)
  • Has a strong grasp of both traditional and non-traditional sports marketing strategies
  • Is highly organized and experienced in project management
  • Approaches challenges with a growth mindset
  • Will love the work more than the paycheck
  • Gets excited to travel and connect directly with consumers
  • Enjoys writing copy (and can do it in the goodr voice)
  • Values giving and receiving feedback as part of the process
  • Is passionate about personal growth
  • Thinks Fun is being great (not partying)

WHAT YOU GET

  • A role at a company that is going to the moon
  • The opportunity to show up every day and have fun
  • The ability to learn and grow as a person
  • Paid vacation (we encourage you to take time off!)
  • Flexible work environment (want to go for a run at 11am on Wednesday, go for it!)
  • Paycheck... obviously. Salary range: $85k - $95k, final number dependent on experience
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits
  • 401(K) with company matching
  • Financial Wellness Counseling
  • Sunglasses. Duh.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
