As an Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for designing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical or electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, and drawings to advance the equipment that supports our technology. Using your technical experience and critical thinking skills, you will perform engineering analysis, generate test reports, develop innovative solutions, and create documentation for product releases. You will also coordinate the procurement and assembly of components, identify sources of critical parts, and resolve technical issues to ensure peak performance.

Summary:

The Systems Engineering Team is responsible for developing leading edge design solutions for applications that span all of the Silicon Products in Applied Materials. As a member of this team you develop electrical engineering solutions for advanced controls, sensors, plasma sources, power solutions, other innovation needs. You will work close with the Engineering Centers of Excellence (CoE's) to determine how best to bring there ideas into practice with you electrical engineering expertise. This is an ideal job for someone with broad electrical engineering experience, who thrives at both technical difficulty and working directly in the lab to iterate and and advance leading edge solutions.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement concepts for a range of significantly complex product issues and engineering solutions 

  • Technically lead and execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriate 

  • Identify and troubleshoot a wide range of significantly complex electrical engineering problems; display innovative thinking to develop solutions 

  • Specify and/or perform engineering analysis of significant complex scope 

  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex electrical issues to address customers’ High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products 

  • Generate product specifications; develop, specify, or modify electrical engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics or drawings of significantly complex scope 

  • Define, coordinate, perform and document engineering tests 

  • Lead highly complex functional or project teams, as applicable

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10-15 years of experience in a related field

  • Demonstrated and highly regarded technical and leadership expertise in your field 

  • Demonstrated experience bringing designs through to hardware implementation and validation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of other disciplines within your function (in addition to in-depth expertise in your own discipline) 

  • Experience impacting functional strategy, as well as the direction and resource allocation for programs, projects, or services .

  • Experience with equipment development, especially Semiconductor Equipment

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
