YOUR MISSION

True Anomaly is seeking an innovative FPGA engineer to design, analyze, implement, and test firmware for high performance satellites. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of VHDL development, tools and FPGA electrical hardware and be capable of owning the fully life cycle development of the firmware. The successful candidate will be a team player that will coordinate with Avionics, Software and Program Management teams. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, Develop and Debug complex FPGA based systems.
  • Develop Space systems using FPGA development tools for high radiation environments.
  • Integrating COTS and custom IPs into products to develop complete solutions.
  • Develop high speed, high reliability electronic systems performing data communications, interface bridging, signal processing and control systems.
  • Perform Verification, Validation and Testing of Firmware and integration of the module into the Space vehicle.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment targeting investigation (proof of concept), R&D and scaling it production programs.
  • Collaborate across other disciplines and teams.
  • Creating and writing documents/ICDs capturing the design and aiding in integration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Digital design using VHDL or Verilog coding.
  • Experience with Microsemi/Microchip/Xilinx/Altera FPGAs and tool set.
  • Experience with verification, simulation and testing of FPGA firmware.
  • Experience with incorporating mitigation strategies such as TMR, ECC, and scrubbing.
  • Understanding of serial protocols such as SPI. I2C, UART
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Experience in using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and serial protocol analyzers.
  • Experience in reading and understanding Electrical schematics and hardware design.
  • Experience in debugging in resource restricted environment and optimizing code to produce highly reliable solutions.
  • Experience in collaborating with software, hardware, testing and integration teams.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of relevant work experience

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $75,000-$105,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance
  • Work Location—while we observe a hybrid work environment, you will need to be onsite as the business needs require. On an average week, you can expect to spend at least 3 days per week in office at our Long Beach, CA facility.
  • Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
  • Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
