The Opportunity

The EHS Training Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Delivery

  • Design and implement EHS training programs (e.g., hazard communication, PPE, emergency response, ergonomics)
  • Deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions for employees at all levels
  • Develop e-learning modules, SOP-based training, and onboarding safety programs
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Compliance & Regulations

  • Ensure adherence to regulations such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and local/state requirements
  • Stay updated on changing EHS laws and integrate them into training programs
  • Support audits and inspections by preparing training documentation

Risk Assessment & Safety Improvement

  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHA) and risk assessments
  • Identify training needs based on incident trends and workplace hazards
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to mitigate risks

Program Management

  • Track training effectiveness using KPIs (e.g., incident rates, completion rates)
  • Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training delivery and tracking
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to roll out safety initiatives

Incident Support

  • Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Develop corrective action training based on findings

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in EHS, safety training, or industrial safety
  • Experience working with OSHA/EHS regulations and standards
  • Experience with LMS platforms and training development tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
    • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
    • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, construction, or tech industries
  • Familiarity with ISO standards like ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
