Job Description SummaryAs the Northern Europe Services EHS Manager (ideally in the UK), you will be responsible for leading the zone strategy of the Environmental, Health and Safety programs focused on mitigating risk, driving regulatory compliance and promoting a positive EHS culture. In this leadership role, you will manage EHS across the functions including sales, project management, service operations (including contracted services or partners) and our customer. This role reports directly to Service Zone General Manager.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will :

  • Lead EHS Program and Safety Culture deployment working, in partnership with the leadership team, to support growth and drive operational excellence, manage complex issues, lead long-term EHS planning, and support the overall business strategy.
  • Drive and demonstrate strong EHS Performances execution to guarantee expectations and target are met as per Global and Regional priorities.
  • Demonstrate strategic and tactical knowledge to deliver excellence and drive continuous improvement and compliance against all applicable requirements 
  • Work collaboratively with the International Central EHS team to deploy the environment sustainability strategy as a key pillar of the GEHC EHS Culture to drive business transformation and meet climate change goals
  • Coach and lead the local EHS team to ensure strong performances execution
  • Analyze and communicate performance against expectations, provide feedback, establish and track required actions to improve performance
  • Provide technical and compliance support to organization; respond to significant incidents and government requests/notices
  • Represent GE Healthcare in preparing comments on new regulations & standards, enhance GEHC programs and expectations; network with other GEHC and external EH&S professionals; disseminate information and guidance across the business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with peers and key functional stakeholders regionally and globally to achieve objectives
  • Sustain a world class EHS program and safety culture; ensure robust pipeline and process for driving excellence certifications (ISO50001, 45001, 140001).
Quality Specific Goals:
  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
  • Identify opportunities to partner with Quality to support QMS initiatives.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, or closely related degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in successful EHS program implementation
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a direct team
  • Strong EHS experience in a senior leadership position; Field-Services, Projects preferred
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal 
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside GEHC (channel partners, customers and regulatory agencies) 
  • Strong knowledge of International  EHS related regulatory requirements
  • Solid understanding of healthcare industry and safety standards
  • Ability to communicate using English

  • Advanced computer skills with specific expertise in Gensuite
  • 10 years’ experience with GEHC EHS management systems
  • Expert knowledge of region, country and local regulations and codes/standards
  • Experience with ISO certification
  • Experience with GE Healthcare Distributed Workforce EHS Program Management
