The EHS Engineering Intern will work closely with an experienced EHS Engineer in a team setting to support various environmental, health, and safety initiatives. This hands-on internship provides exposure to real-world challenges in a corporate environment. The EHS Intern will assist with safety audits, risk assessments, policy development, incident investigations, environmental data tracking, and employee training efforts. The EHS Intern will help improve workplace ergonomics and collaborate with cross-functional teams on ongoing EHS projects.
The goal of this internship is to provide practical experience while building a foundational understanding of EHS work in a professional setting, with guidance and mentorship from EHS staff.
Position Type: On-site -typically requires 3 days per week in the office
Status: Part-Time- 25 Hours Per Week/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Quality and Regulatory Engineering Manager
Pay: $25.00 hourly
ResponsibilitiesWork in a team environment alongside EHS Engineer.
- Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Support the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Assist with environmental reporting and data collection (e.g., waste, water, energy usage).
- Create and deliver safety training materials and toolbox talks.
- Support ergonomic assessments and workplace safety improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on EHS projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Junior level or above, currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Must be in good academic standing and have completed relevant foundational coursework.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to follow instructions, take initiative, and work independently when needed
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative, practical design solutions
- Solid analytical thinking with the ability to assess problems and implement effective resolutions
- Demonstrates ownership of work and a consistent focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills
