ABOUT NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The Educational Technology Specialist’s primary role is to provide support to the faculty/staff, students, and their parents. The ideal candidate will also support the distribution, collection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the school technology resources.  The Educational Technology Specialist will serve as an important member of the school’s Technology Department and will help increase the overall use of technology by the administration, faculty, staff, and students. The position is a full-time, year-round, classified, exempt staff position that reports to the Directors of Educational Technology and Infrastructure.

This position is expected to be on campus year-round Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm with some flexibility to work additional hours as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Educational Technology

  • Create instructional content (Videos etc. for students, parents, and faculty).
  • Monitor student adherence to the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Seeks to improve the use of technology by identifying and recommending effective teaching tools by working closely with staff, faculty, and students.
  • Supports the Director of Educational Technology to research and deliver professional development and in-service programs that enable the faculty to effectively integrate and utilize technology in the classroom.

Support

  • Serves as the primary contact for support to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Works closely with the faculty and administrative staff to ensure high-quality delivery of a broad range of technical support services.
  • Serves as the primary contact for support to networking and hardware issues.
  • Manage and maintain the support ticketing system.
  • Supports the management of student accounts (Google, HelpDesk, AD etc.).

General

  • Support the Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience.
  • Supports the Director of Infrastructure to maintain a current technology inventory and regular maintenance plan.
  • Orders supplies when needed and ensures an adequate level of inventory is maintained.
  • Configure, distribute, collect, and store devices and accessories.
  • Troubleshoot device and network issues, repair in-house, or escalate to the Director of Infrastructure.
  • Work closely with and support other members of the Technology Department as needed, e.g., help desk assistance, iPad support, information systems special projects, hardware/network support, etc.
  • Supports the information systems team with data entry/auditing tasks.
  • Engage in the life of the school community through presence at school Masses, assemblies, rallies, sporting events, visual and performing arts events, etc.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a K-12 environment
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with MacOS, iOS, tvOS, and Microsoft Windows devices.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with TCP/IP networking, wireless systems, and A/V components.
  • Strong knowledge of network and PC hardware and related software programs, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Extensive support and troubleshooting experience with computers and iPads.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all constituents.
  • Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to carry or lift equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Current driver's license and ability to drive for occasional pick-up or drop-off of supplies/equipment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
