Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced eCW to Epic Conversion Specialist to support a large-scale healthcare technology initiative involving the migration of clinical and operational data from eClinicalWorks (eCW) to Epic. This consultant will serve as a subject matter expert throughout the data conversion lifecycle, including data assessment, extraction, mapping, validation, testing, and go-live support.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading healthcare data conversions, strong knowledge of eCW and Epic data structures, and a proven track record of supporting successful legacy EMR-to-Epic migration projects.

Assignment Details:

  • Initial 6-month contract with likelihood of extensions
  • Fully remote
  • Multiple openings available
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead data conversion activities for eClinicalWorks (eCW) to Epic migration projects.
  • Analyze legacy eCW data and identify conversion requirements, dependencies, and potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation for demographic, clinical, financial, and operational data.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, technical, and project leadership teams to define conversion scope and requirements.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Perform data quality assessments and recommend remediation strategies to improve conversion outcomes.
  • Validate converted data and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support mock conversions, testing cycles, cutover planning, go-live activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Investigate and resolve conversion defects, data discrepancies, and validation issues.
  • Document conversion processes, mapping specifications, test results, and project deliverables.
  • Provide recommendations and best practices to optimize data migration processes and improve conversion efficiency.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare IT data conversion experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting eClinicalWorks (eCW) to Epic conversion projects.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data migration methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with source-to-target mapping, data transformation, validation, reconciliation, and testing.
  • Knowledge of clinical and operational healthcare workflows.
  • Experience working with large healthcare organizations and enterprise EHR implementations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working in remote consulting environments and collaborating across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic Data Conversion experience on multiple Epic implementations or optimization initiatives.
  • Epic certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience converting clinical data including patient demographics, encounters, allergies, medications, immunizations, problem lists, laboratory results, and clinical documentation.
  • Experience with SQL, reporting tools, ETL processes, and healthcare data analysis.
  • Previous consulting experience supporting large-scale healthcare transformation projects.
