We want everyone to work better – but we also want to be a tech company with a heart. Join us as we continuously innovate our award-winning products, create new solutions, and help the world work smarter, not harder.

About the role:

Tempo is expanding beyond the Atlassian ecosystem, and we're looking for an entrepreneurial Ecosystem Business Development Manager to open the door with the next wave of strategic hyperscaler and platform partners — starting with AWS and Microsoft. This is a net-new activation role: you'll be building these relationships largely from scratch, getting Tempo listed and transactable on each marketplace, and standing up the go-to-market motions that turn a new ecosystem into a real source of pipeline.

You'll work hand-in-hand with the ecosystem owners themselves — AWS, Microsoft, and others as we prioritize them — as well as their services partners, whether or not those partners have an existing relationship with Tempo or Atlassian today. This role sits at the intersection of business development, alliance management, and field execution, and reports to the SVP, Channel & Alliances.

What you'll do:

  • Ecosystem Activation & Marketplace GTM: own the end-to-end activation of new hyperscaler and platform ecosystems, starting with AWS and Microsoft — building the relationship, the paperwork, and the go-to-market plan from the ground up.

  • Get Tempo listed and transactable on relevant marketplaces (e.g., AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace / AppSource), including private offers and co-sell program enrollment (e.g., AWS ACE, Microsoft Partner Center).

  • Build GTM motions directly with each ecosystem owner's partner and channel teams, identifying the programs, incentives, and joint-selling mechanics that will drive real pipeline.

  • Partner Recruitment & Pipeline Development: recruit and activate the ecosystem owner's services partners — regardless of whether they're existing Tempo or Atlassian partners — to sell and deliver Tempo alongside their hyperscaler practice.

  • Define and track partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline for each new ecosystem, and report progress and results to Tempo's leadership team.

  • Establish pipeline review cadences and reporting frameworks as each new ecosystem matures, ensuring visibility and accountability.

  • Field & Cross-Functional Coordination: coordinate with Tempo's AEs, SEs, and Marketing to build joint campaigns, co-sell plays, and enablement content tailored to each new ecosystem.

  • Represent Tempo at hyperscaler partner events, summits, and marketplace programs to build visibility and relationships in each new ecosystem.

  • Work with Product and Engineering to prioritize the integrations and technical requirements each marketplace and co-sell program needs.

  • Use AI day-to-day to research and prioritize new partners and prospects, pull together GTM and enablement content faster, and keep pipeline reporting current across multiple ecosystems at once.

Who you are:

Must-have:

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic alliances, or partner management within B2B SaaS.

  • Direct, hands-on experience standing up or running a hyperscaler relationship — AWS Marketplace/ACE, Microsoft Partner Center/AppSource, or a comparable platform co-sell program.

  • A track record of activating a new partner or ecosystem relationship from zero — comfortable building the playbook, not just running one that already exists.

  • Strong business development instincts: able to identify the right people, open the door, and turn early conversations into a structured, repeatable motion.

  • Comfort working with services partners you don't already have a relationship with, and building trust quickly.

  • A data-driven approach to partnerships — defining success metrics, tracking pipeline, and reporting results clearly to leadership.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate a new ecosystem's programs and priorities into a clear, actionable plan for internal teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience launching or scaling an AWS Marketplace or Microsoft co-sell/AppSource presence for a B2B SaaS company.

  • Familiarity with the enterprise PPM, SPM, ITSM, or project management software landscape.

  • An existing network within AWS, Microsoft, or other hyperscaler partner and channel organizations.

  • Experience working in a high-growth, PE-backed or venture-backed SaaS environment.

  • Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor — highly autonomous, structured, and able to create leverage without a large team.

AI in this role:

  • Comfortable using AI tools to support research, content, and reporting from day one is a plus — we're glad to help build that fluency further on the job. What matters most is good judgment about when a relationship or a deal needs a human touch AI can't replace.

Why Join Tempo?

  • Build a New Growth Engine: help build one of Tempo's newest strategic growth engines — taking Tempo beyond the Atlassian ecosystem and into the AWS and Microsoft partner worlds from the ground up.

  • Scale at an Inflection Point: Tempo is expanding from a time-tracking heritage into full Strategic Portfolio Management, with a platform that serves enterprise organizations at Fortune 100 scale.

  • Autonomy & Visibility: real autonomy and executive visibility — reporting to the SVP, Channel & Alliances, with the mandate to shape how Tempo shows up in each new ecosystem.

  • Collaboration: a remote-first culture with flexibility, a collaborative global team, and a track record of strong employee development.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
