Econ One provides economic consulting services, as well as expert testimony, in litigation matters involving antitrust, class action, labor & employment, finance, health economics, intellectual property, and other commercial disputes. Our in-house expertise in applied statistics, data management, economic theory, and econometrics is coupled with decades of experience successfully dealing with case-specific demands at every stage of the litigation process.
We are seeking an Econometrician to join a team working on a variety of projects involving antitrust and damages issues. This role supports testifying experts in complex litigation matters, applying rigorous econometric and statistical methods to real-world data. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing workstreams, mentoring junior staff, and communicating complex economic concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, in the fast-paced setting of litigation consulting.
Expectations
- Support testifying experts in complex antitrust and related litigation matters
- Design and implement econometric models and statistical analyses using advanced empirical and estimation techniques on real-world datasets
- Manage and review workstreams, ensuring accuracy and quality of work product
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff on analytical approach and execution
- Conduct independent research and analysis with minimal supervision
- Clean and analyze data using SAS and/or Stata
- Produce clear, well-organized written work product, including memoranda, reports, and exhibits summarizing analyses and findings
- Communicate complex economic and econometric concepts clearly to attorneys, clients, and testifying experts
- Collaborate with case teams to manage project timelines and deliverables
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Economics (or advanced degree with substantial relevant experience), with a focus in microeconomics, applied microeconomics, industrial organization, or econometrics
- Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting testifying experts in complex antitrust and related litigation matters
- Demonstrated proficiency in econometric modeling and statistical analysis, including application of advanced empirical and estimation techniques to real-world datasets
- Significant hands-on experience in SAS and/or Stata
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex economic concepts clearly and effectively
- Proven leadership and project management abilities, including experience mentoring junior staff and managing workstreams in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality of work product
