About WhyGolf

WhyGolf is a fast-growing golf training brand helping golfers all around the world suck less. We design original golf aids and a mobile application that help golfers practice with purpose, build confidence, and see measurable results.

WhyGolf is growing mid double digits annually, profitable, and looking to scale our marketing operations. Our next phase is about producing more scroll-stopping Meta ads, improving retention & fostering deeper community engagement.
The Role
We’re hiring a Senior Creative Strategist to own the paid-social creative engine end to end, from concept development through live deployment and iteration in Meta Ads.

This is not a junior role and not a pure “ideas-only” position. You will be accountable for outcomes. That means turning product insights and performance data into clear creative concepts, ensuring those concepts are produced correctly, launched properly, and continuously improved based on results.

You’ll work closely with the founder, Director of Marketing, editors, creators, and paid media partners to ensure WhyGolf always has high-performing creative in market.
Responsibilities

  • Own the entire creative lifecycle for Meta Ads, from concept ideation and messaging frameworks through briefing, production, deployment, and iteration

  • Develop scroll-stopping ad concepts rooted in golfer psychology, product mechanics, and clear performance hooks

  • Write and own creative briefs for UGC creators, editors, and internal partners, ensuring clarity, speed, and alignment with performance goals

  • Ensure creative is properly launched and tested in Meta Ads Manager, including creative structuring, naming conventions, and testing frameworks

  • Monitor creative-level performance (CTR, thumb-stop rate, CPA, fatigue, angle performance) and translate insights into next actions

  • Maintain a structured creative testing roadmap to ensure consistent throughput of new concepts and angles

  • Partner closely with paid media and analytics to diagnose performance issues and identify creative opportunities

  • Balance brand standards with native, high-performing paid social formats

  • Collaborate directly with the founder and creative partners to translate strategy into shipped ads, not just ideas

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in creative strategy for paid social, ideally within DTC or performance-driven eCommerce

  • Demonstrated experience owning creative from concept through live deployment, not just ideation

  • Strong hands-on understanding of Meta Ads, including creative testing, iteration cycles, and performance diagnostics

  • Data-literate and comfortable using performance metrics to guide creative decisions

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in briefing creators and aligning stakeholders

  • High ownership mentality and comfort operating in a fast-moving, founder-led environment

  • Experience working with UGC, creator-led content, and performance video ads

You’ll Stand Out If You...
  • Have experience marketing golf products or understand the golf swing, common swing faults, and how golfers think about improvement

  • Have worked on performance-driven creative in sports, fitness, or skill-based consumer categories

  • Have directly collaborated with editors and creators to turn raw footage into high-performing ads

  • Are comfortable balancing brand voice with aggressive performance testing

Compensation & Location
  • Competitive salary based on experience (80k-120k)

  • Remote role (US-based preferred)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
