Divisional CIO - Building Construction Products (BCP)
Role Definition:
The Divisional CIO (DCIO) is a strategic IT business partner and advisor serving the Building Construction Products Division (BDP) of the Caterpillar Construction Industries (CI) organization. Construction Industries is a critical enterprise team delivering
products, services and technology solutions across physical infrastructure and building construction applications.
The DCIO is accountable to provide technology solutions aligned with the Business strategy and objectives and in doing so, leads a large team of managers, individual contributors, and Caterpillar IT matrixed colleagues to provide business-informed technology solutions and services. The DCIO actively engages and leads development and delivery of business aligned solutions, prioritizing resources, negotiating contracts, and providing guidance across teams and regions. This leader is critically positioned in the organization to drive business-informed IT strategy and enable CI-BCP operational priorities that both create and protect enterprise value.
What You Will Do:
  • Delivers tangible business value through technology solutions that are aligned to the business strategy and priorities.
  • Provides thought leadership to proactively solve business challenges and issues.
  • Manages operational stability, health, and availability of technology solutions.
  • Protects the business and brands across cyber, risk and compliance requirements.
  • Prioritizes resources to achieve strategic business outcomes.

  • Strategy development & execution: Experience leading, developing, socializing, and executing IT strategies and roadmaps in an overly complex environment.
  • Relationship management: Collaborating and managing partner and peer relationships to achieve business outcomes by leading through influence and direct accountability in a matrixed environment.
  • Customer-focused: Strong business and financial acumen with a "customer back" mindset.
  • Software engineering & development: Designing and building digital and technology solutions that strengthen the core business and pioneer the future with expanded offerings that grow services.

  • Operational support: Supporting global, large scale manufacturing operations and aftermarket business models in a matrixed support structure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Benefits: This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar's long-term incentive plan.
  • Candidate will have responsibility for the IT strategy through operations of a globally dispersed set of CI BCP
    manufacturing facilities, the IT resources assigned to those facilities as well as IT team members supporting BCP from Caterpillar office locations.

Summary Pay Range:
$185,400.00 - $278,160.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
