🚚 Dispatcher Specialist – Drive the Future of Drayage Logistics!
At Lineage, we’re on a mission to simplify and supercharge the connection between ocean ports and domestic warehouses—and we need a sharp, solutions-oriented Dispatcher Specialist to help make it happen. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy strategic thinking, and have a knack for keeping things moving smoothly (even when things get complicated), we’d love to meet you!

🔧 What You’ll Do:

As a Dispatcher Specialist, you’ll be the heartbeat of our drayage operations—planning daily routes, coordinating drivers and carriers, and adapting on the fly to keep our freight moving efficiently and on time. You’ll play a vital role in our supply chain, working with everyone from warehouse staff to drivers and vendors to ensure seamless service from port to warehouse.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage daily driver and equipment schedules to ensure timely deliveries.

  • Collaborate closely with:

    • Warehouse teams to avoid delays and reduce port fees

    • Company drivers to keep operations smooth and drivers engaged

    • Carriers and partners to ensure effective resource use

  • Leverage dynamic routing systems and TMS to track, plan, and execute drayage moves with precision.

  • Monitor drivers’ hours and workloads to stay compliant with DOT/HOS regulations.

  • Adapt to operational curveballs—like port closures or last-minute customer requests—with fast, thoughtful decisions.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts that boost productivity, efficiency, and service.

  • Track and manage equipment inventory across multiple yards; coordinate repairs or breakdowns with vendors.

  • Keep a keen eye on cost margins while always meeting customer expectations.

🎯 What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience

  • 5+ years of port dispatching experience

  • Deep understanding of import/export logistics and transportation operations

  • Strong experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) – 5+ years preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Spanish fluency is a plus!)

  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, high-visibility situations

  • Excellent organization and time management—you keep chaos at bay

  • A strategic mindset and a solutions-first attitude when faced with ambiguity

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
