Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Directories and Recognitions Coordinator to join our award-winning Business Development team in support of the firm's profile-raising efforts.

In this role, you’ll help advance the firm’s participation in global and national directories to raise profiles of the firm and our lawyers, positioning Morgan Lewis as a destination firm for clients, lawyers, and staff. You’ll leverage your relationship building, project coordination, research, and writing experience, working closely with key stakeholders across global jurisdictions, practice areas, industry teams, and functions to craft engaging submissions.

This position offers the opportunity to gain the experience, connections, and continuous learning through routine engagement with all levels of the firm’s professional staff, lawyers, and leadership, while enhancing your communication, networking, analytical, and project management skills.

This role can be based in any one of our Century City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York, or Washington, DC offices and offers a 3 day in-office hybrid working arrangement.  Flexibility to work across time zones and outside of traditional business hours is required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Creates and manages deadline calendar and timelines, maintains templates and process documents, and provides status reports to ensure submissions are complete and deadlines are met.

  • Works with practice aligned business development teams to improve participation in directory submissions and organizes and leads calls with partners and key stakeholders throughout each cycle to build relationships, outline process and key dates, establish communication plans and deadlines, and advise on best practices.

  • Drafts and edits submissions, maintaining high writing standards with a journalistic tone, paying close attention to guidelines and deadlines.

  • Researches and evaluates directory opportunities and utilizes the firm’s experience management system to identify areas of focus and opportunity for directory submissions, including lawyers and matters to profile.

  • Coordinates interviews, provides interview prep material, and coaches partners in directory interview best practices.

  • Tracks post-submission data and updates stakeholders on referee response rates and research status including start and finish dates.

  • Records, analyzes, and reports results and compiles peer analysis and historical rankings lists.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of directly relevant post-graduate professional experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional, consulting, and/or legal services fields or corporate environment.

  • Understanding of legal media and directories preferred.

  • Outstanding editing, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize, balance, and mange projects and assignments effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships wide range of individuals both internally and externally with a client-focused approach.

For positions in Century City, CA and Los Angeles, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $64,700.00 - $103,475.00.

For positions in New York, NY, the salary range for this job posting is: $67,400.00 - $107,825.00.

For positions in Washington, DC, the salary range for this job posting is: $62,000.00 - $99,200.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
