Location: Los Angeles, CA (on-site)

Our mission is to promote American values through the creative use of digital media, technology and edu-tainment. We’re proud to be voted among the “Best Place to Work in Los Angeles” by the LA Business Journal 3 years in a row.

We’re seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Director of Website Operations to join our growing team. This is a digital-first, UX-minded content strategist position working on daily operations with multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with content flow, user experience, content taxonomy, and how our audience engages with our website and app. You’ll collaborate across departments to ensure our digital platforms are intuitively organized, visually appealing, and strategically aligned with our content goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own and refine the organization, structure, and hierarchy of content on PragerU’s digital platforms, including the website and app.
  • Evaluate and optimize content layouts, playlists, carousels, and pages with a critical UX and content strategy lens.
  • Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to guide layout decisions using napkin sketches, wireframes, and strategic feedback.
  • Create, maintain and evolve content taxonomy, tagging, and metadata systems to ensure discoverability and logical content organization.
  • Audit and maintain editorial consistency and logical flow across all digital content touchpoints.
  • Make recommendations on content placement, promotion, and sequencing to improve user engagement and drive strategic goals.
  • Proactively suggest updates or redesigns based on user needs and current content.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (video production, education, marketing) to ensure new content is optimally published and promoted.
  • Monitor digital KPIs and user behavior data to inform content decisions and layout strategies.
  • Conduct competitive and industry research to stay current on UX/content best practices.
  • Manage Web team to execute daily operations, implement content updates, and maintain high standards across all digital platforms.

Successful Candidates Will Possess:

  • Proven experience leading teams, setting clear goals, and working across departments to get things done.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in digital content strategy, digital editing, or UX/content design.
  • Proven experience working with content management systems (CMS) and organizing large content libraries.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles/journeys, web/app layout, and visual storytelling - you don’t need to be a designer, but you must work well with them.
  • Excellent visual communication skills, ability to quickly sketch or articulate layout ideas to a design or product team.
  • Experience with content tagging, metadata systems, and taxonomies.
  • Detail-obsessed with a high standard for digital presentation and user flow.
  • Clear, concise communicator who can influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong editorial instincts, an analytical mindset, and a keen eye for what makes digital content engaging and usable.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
