Summary 

The Director of Web UX & Design leads the vision, strategy, and execution of all Topstep-owned web experiences spanning Topstep.com, TopstepBrokerage.com, ProjectX.com, and all sub-brands. This role combines creative leadership, UX expertise, and technical acumen to design and optimize the digital front door to Topstep’s Ecosystem of experiences that drive engagement, conversion, and elevate brand excellence. 

You will oversee UX/UI web design initiatives, collaborate with Product Design on cross-brand and experience design systems, ensuring every touchpoint aligns with Topstep’s brand architecture, performance goals, cybersecurity standards, and compliance requirements. This role partners closely with Creative, Growth Marketing, Product, Product Design, Engineering, and IT teams to create seamless, secure, and high-performing digital experiences that elevate the brand and business.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design and user experience strategy for all Topstep-owned websites.
  • Manage a team of UI/UX and web designers, empowering them to collaborate, push boundaries, and deliver a unified digital experience.
  • Oversee UX research, wireframes, prototyping, and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve conversion paths from web to product.
  • Build and maintain scalable web design systems and component libraries consistent with brand guidelines.
  • Incorporate privacy-by-design and security-by-design principles into all UX and design processes.
  • Define and measure UX success metrics (e.g., engagement, conversion, time-on-site, satisfaction).
  • Drive accessibility, mobile optimization, and performance best practices across all digital properties.
  • Own the UX process for major web initiatives (e.g., site redesigns, product pages, sub-brand sites, and marketing landing pages).
  • Manage external agency partners to deliver on time, on brand, and on strategy.
  • Stay ahead of digital trends, technologies, and user behavior insights to evolve the Topstep web experience continually.
  • Ensure all digital experiences comply with legal, NFA, and brand standards.
  • Partner with Sr. Creative Director and Brand leadership to translate brand identity and campaigns into cohesive, high-performing digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Product Design, and Marketing teams to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs and seamless functionality.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and IT Security teams to ensure all web properties adhere to cybersecurity best practices, data-protection standards, and secure design protocols.
  • Partner with Growth and Analytics teams to test, learn, and iterate based on data-driven insights.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • 12+ years of experience in web design, UX/UI, or digital experience leadership roles.
  • Proven success leading UX and design teams within brand-driven, performance-focused organizations (fintech or regulated industries preferred).
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates exceptional UX thinking, creative visual and interaction design, and digital brand storytelling execution.
  • Deep understanding of UX methodologies, design systems, digital accessibility requirements and responsive design best practices.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, web security protocols, and compliance requirements related to digital experiences.
  • Experience collaborating with Product and Security teams to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable web infrastructure.
  • Proficient in key tools -> Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Maze, Hotjar).
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., Webflow, WordPress, or custom headless systems) and collaboration with developers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a collaborative, user-first mindset.
  • Experience working within fast-moving, cross-functional creative and growth teams.
  • Passion for creating digital experiences that are as visually stunning as they are effective.

New Hire Base Salary Range

  • $170,000-$230,000
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
