About AZX

Our mission is to accelerate positive impact in critical industries through AI transformation.

We’re growing quickly and already work with category-leaders in real estate (CBRE), energy (LevelTen Energy), logistics (Flexe), and utilities (Puget Sound Energy).

AZX is a public benefit corporation founded in 2024. We were profitable through bootstrapped consulting for the first year. In early 2026, we raised $6M to scale our operations and technology.

We work on challenges in clean energy, decarbonization, climate risk, energy systems, and global economics. We’re building our company for long-term success and aim to create the ultimate place to work for those passionate about AI and making a positive impact.

About the Role

You’ll own AZX’s go-to-market strategy and lead the team that brings it to life. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll join the leadership team and be accountable for pipeline generation, brand, partnerships, and the full marketing function.

AZX sells AI transformation strategy and implementation to mid-market and global companies in utilities, energy, climate, and commercial real estate. Our GTM motion is relationship-driven, ABM-focused, and built on thought leadership and trusted networks—not volume outbound. You’ll build and refine the playbook, manage the team, and personally drive key relationships with enterprise buyers and technology partners.

This is a leadership role for someone who is empirical and intuitive, thrives in ambiguity, and has the executive presence to represent AZX with Fortune 500 clients and partners like NVIDIA, Google, and Anthropic.

What You Will Do

  • Own the GTM strategy end-to-end: campaigns, events, ABM, content, partnerships, and pipeline generation. Continuously refine based on data and results.

  • Build, manage, and develop the GTM team (currently hiring a GTM AI Engineer and Community/Content Marketing Associate alongside this role).

  • Form, nurture, and drive strategic partnerships (e.g. NVIDIA, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, Amazon).

  • Champion AZX’s brand narrative and ensure discipline across all touchpoints—managing vendors for brand refresh and ensuring consistency.

  • Drive product/solution marketing and guide case study development as client wins accumulate.

  • Take senior prospect and partner calls directly—you’re a player-coach who can open doors and hold the room.

  • Oversee and drive RFP responses and complex proposals.

  • Own the GTM budget, event calendar, and vendor relationships (brand refresh, regulatory consultants).

  • Oversee editorial quality—brand voice, depth, and consistency across all content.

  • Track and be accountable for GTM metrics: pipeline coverage, ABM scorecard, funnel conversion, and marketing-sourced revenue.

Core Qualifications

  • Extremely ambitious with a relentless need to succeed. You set aggressive targets and find ways to hit them.

  • Empirical and pragmatic—you test, measure, and iterate.

  • Executive presence and credibility with enterprise buyers and senior partners. You can walk into a room with a utility CEO or an NVIDIA VP and hold the conversation.

  • Comfort with chaos and the ability to create order from it. AZX is early-stage—there is no playbook yet.

  • Extremely organized and able to balance many spinning plates—events, partnerships, campaigns, team management, and content all at once.

  • Track record building and leading a marketing or GTM team, ideally at an early-stage or high-growth company.

  • Strong business acumen. You understand pipeline math, deal economics, and how marketing connects to revenue.

  • Genuinely comfortable with AI tools. You don’t need to build the stack, but you should understand what’s possible and push the team to leverage AI everywhere.

Values and Culture Qualifications

  • Mission aligned—you care about climate, energy, and using technology to solve hard problems. This isn’t just a job.

  • Action in ambiguity—you figure out what to do when nobody tells you, and you take ownership of the outcome.

  • Intellectual humility—you’d rather find the right answer than be right.

  • Kind candor—you care about your teammates and speak honestly, without creating unnecessary conflict.

  • Highly productive—you have a track record of getting a lot done.

Other Qualifications (Not required, but a huge plus)

  • Deep domain knowledge in energy, utilities, climate, cleantech, or commercial real estate. Utility experience is a strong plus.

  • Experience in B2B enterprise marketing or consulting go-to-market—especially relationship-driven, long-cycle sales.

  • Experience at an early-stage startup or building a marketing function from scratch.

  • Existing relationships with technology partners (NVIDIA, Google, Anthropic, etc.) or industry organizations (EEI, NARUC, etc.).

  • Background in strategy consulting, professional services, or enterprise software marketing.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $175,000–$240,000 (based on capabilities, experience, and location). Title calibrated to Director or VP based on experience.

  • Bonus eligibility

  • Equity

  • Health insurance with meaningful coverage for dependents

  • Flexible paid time off

  • Training and learning opportunities

  • Fully remote team

  • Be part of a fast-growing, mission-driven company with industry-leading clients tackling the massive opportunity of AI transformation in critical industries

Logistics

  • Remote, U.S.-based.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

  • Willingness to travel for partner meetings, client events, AZX company events, and industry conferences

Next Steps — we want to hear from you!

If this job sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you. If you feel aligned to the company but don’t check every box, please apply anyway—we’d still love to meet you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
