Who We Are

We’re Personified: a managed IT + cybersecurity services provider for campaigns, non-profits, and mission-aligned organizations. Our mission is to lead technology and security programs for our clients, enabling them to focus on their mission-critical work.

We act as an extension of our client teams — we handle all the responsibilities a traditional internal IT team would. We’re in our clients’ Slacks, we’re on a first-name basis with them (and their pets), we’re new hires’ first point of contact, and we’re the first stop for tech and cybersecurity issues. We aim to build trust, and we leverage this to keep the bad actors out.

Some of the biggest names in the progressive space have leaned on us as their trusted IT + cybersecurity partner. We are looking for top IT talent as we continue to scale our team.

About the Role

The Director of Training & Content owns how Personified builds knowledge and capability for our clients and for our own team. This role leads the programs that help clients adopt strong security habits, AI literacy, and get real value from their technology. It sets the standard for how we teach and document. This includes designing engaging, accessible learning experiences across cybersecurity, AI, and usability topics, creating the content that powers them, and delivering sessions that actually stick.

You will develop strategy, own programs, oversee the development and review of our client and internal training materials, and create original content: from live session decks to written guides and repeatable curricula. You will also mentor team members across departments as they take on new responsibilities in security and training, building capability and confidence across the organization.

This role reports to the CTO.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy + Delivery

  • Develop and maintain reusable training deck templates; customize per-client for environment, security context, and audience technical level prior to each engagement.
  • Host and co-present client AI workshops and security trainings alongside Personified team members
  • Update and maintain training materials for usability-focused topics, including 1Password, data retention, and various AI tools
  • Adapt content and presentation style to suit a variety of audiences and technical comfort levels

Content + Enablement

  • Create original content and curricula that scale: live session decks, written guides, recorded sessions, and structured onboarding
  • Mentor team members across departments as they take on new responsibilities in security and training, building internal capability and confidence over time
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure training materials reflect current best practices and client environments
  • Write documentation that a successor or new team member could pick up and use without your help
  • Partner with Client Support, IT Operations, and Engineering leads to ensure training reflects how the team actually works and what clients actually need
  • Track training outcomes and iterate; measure what's landing and adjust accordingly
  • Serve as Personified's internal subject matter expert on training, AI adoption, and security awareness, helping staff build confidence and capability over time
  • Collaborate with marketing and partnership teams to share these messages externally to help bring in new clients, and engage a wider audience
Skills + Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or client-facing training and education, including experience leading or owning a training program or function.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical or security concepts into clear, accessible content for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong content-creation skills: able to design and produce original training decks, guides, and learning resources from scratch.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills: confident leading live client training and adapting style to different audiences.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues, ideally across functions as they take on new security and training responsibilities.
  • Strong Google Workspace skills (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Meet); familiarity with usability and security tools such as 1Password, passkeys, Microsoft, and Slack.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset and comfort in a remote, fast-paced environment. Prior experience supporting progressive, nonprofit, or mission-driven clients is a plus.
Benefits
  • Remote work environment
  • Competitive pay
  • Healthcare packages contributed to by Personified
  • Optional 401K matched by Personified
  • Cell phone stipend
  • Annual learning & development stipend

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
