Job Summary:
The Project Management Team is broadly chartered with the evolution of project management best practices across technical project investments, including all critical programs to deliver and implement software for Sharecare's customers and internal business constituents. 
This role will provide leadership, coordination and management of project management processes and methodologies in relationship to IT best practices. In addition to personal oversight and broad accountability for large-scale complex programs, the Director, Technical Project Management leads a team of technical Project Managers cross-functionally reporting across Product Management, Development and Data Services. The Director, Technical Project Management and the Project Management Team will also provide active leadership of all aspects of projects from start to finish, including project team resource identification, cost management, stakeholder management, project planning, issue tracking and resolution, lifecycle testing, reporting, release management, change management, interfacing with other business departments, and formalized project closure. 
Essential Job Functions:

  • Directs and oversees the Technical Project Management Team to ensure technical programs and projects meet organization goals and requirements.
  • Develops and implements project management processes and policies, directs project management staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.
  • Develops project management capabilities through training, coaching, group and individual meetings and discussion.
  • Assigns project management resources and assists in the development of project teams with input from the Business Leaders, Project Managers, Product Managers, and Development Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management. 
  • Knowledge of project management software products is preferred (e.g. Smartsheets). 
  • Demonstrated leadership of multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups. 
  • Demonstrated competency in project management and the execution of multiple large projects critical to the delivery of business strategies and goals, with many examples of successful (on time, on budget, with stated value) program deliveries to the business. 
  • Successful development and implementation of new work processes or process improvements. 
  • Experience working with clients and/or internal stakeholders to develop solutions to complex business problems. 
  • Effective communication across the organization, including to the highest levels of senior management. 
  • Solid understanding of the software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary development lifecycle and testing methodologies, and deployment management. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile development best practices and the blending of internal teams with external software development partners. 
  • In depth knowledge of SDLC tools like Jira and Confluence. 
  • Working knowledge of contemporary software technologies and architectures, hardware delivery platforms and technologies, and a demonstrated ability to understand inherent impacts of projects being delivered across these platforms. 
  • Successful experience in identifying, hiring, motivating, and developing professional level staff. 
  • Possess strong cross-organizational negotiation and conflict management skills; working knowledge experience with vendor and contract negotiation. 
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities and to effectively prioritize and execute against timelines in a nimble and fast-paced environment. 
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience and will have created or managed and enhanced a technology project office or program management discipline for an enterprise delivering multiple software product releases or enterprise implementations. 
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an IT focus is required. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
