The Director of Technical Program Management will lead strategic portfolio management, implement a delivery government framework and support end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives that power our healthcare technology platform. You will own portfolio outcomes across product and engineering, bring clarity to ambiguity, and establish a repeatable operating model that scales with growth. Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Clinical, and Go-to-Market leaders, you will ensure predictable execution, high quality, and adherence to healthcare privacy, security, and interoperability standards. You will build and mentor a high-performing TPM team, implement best-in-class program practices and metrics, and communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to executives and customers.
Primary Duties
- Program delivery leadership: Drive planning and execution across multiple teams and platforms, aligning initiatives to business outcomes and OKRs. Orchestrate dependencies, resources, and timelines to deliver reliably at scale. Serve as the accountable owner for portfolio health, including on-time delivery, scope integrity, and benefit realization.
- Cross-functional leadership alignment: Create alignment among Product, Engineering, Analytics, Security and GTM on goals, scope, and success criteria. Provide clear, concise communications and executive-ready reporting on status, risks, and trade-offs to enable timely decisions.
- Build and lead the technical program management organization; program governance and delivery excellence: Hire, develop, and coach TPMs, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Establish program governance, operating rhythms, and tooling (e.g., roadmapping, Jira, dashboards) that improve predictability and transparency. Define and track core delivery metrics (e.g., on-time rate, lead time, dependency aging) and implement data-driven improvements.
- Risk, compliance, and quality management: Proactively identify and manage program risks, escalations, and change control to protect timelines and outcomes. Ensure delivery practices align with healthcare requirements such as data privacy and security (e.g., HIPAA), interoperability (e.g., HL7/FHIR), and, where applicable, certifications or regulatory considerations. Partner with Security, Compliance, and QA to prepare for audits, maintain release discipline, and uphold patient safety and product reliability.
