The Tax Director will be responsible for all aspects of accounting for income taxes and reporting, and U.S. and certain foreign tax compliance and planning. The Tax Director will manage a team of tax professionals, collaborate with external advisors, and work closely with finance, legal, and business units to support tax initiatives.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Palo Alto for our hybrid working model. 

Responsibilities:
  • Direct U.S. GAAP accounting for income taxes and financial statement tax reporting and disclosures (ASC 740) 
  • Direct U.S and certain foreign tax compliance and planning
  • Responsible for all SOX related procedures and documentation 
  • Direct certain international tax provisions for foreign statutory financials
  • Review business initiatives to determine the tax impact  
  • Direct corporate tax research and interpretation
  • Manage U.S and certain foreign tax audits 
  • Direct post-acquisition integrations
  • Coordinate with outside tax consultants and contractors for various tax projects 
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to gain efficiencies and improve accuracy
  • Support and develop tax team members
Experience:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong SEC and GAAP reporting experience
  • Strong compliance and planning experience in a multi-national, multi-entity environment 
  • Experience with U.S foreign compliance and planning including the areas of BEAT, GILTI, and Check the Box Principles
  • Working knowledge in transfer pricing
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, MST or LLM (Taxation) preferred)
  • Ability to navigate complex tax issues and provide strategic solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Significant project management skills required

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$129,000$253,000 USD
