Comprised of Disney's international media businesses and the Company's streaming and linear services, the DEE Tech Engineering Services segment aligns technology, content, and distribution platforms to expand the Company's global footprint to deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.
DEE Tech is responsible for The Walt Disney Company's direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; Disney+, Other streaming platforms such as Star+, and Hulu streaming service; global advertising sales and ad technology for all of Disney's media properties, including ABC, ESPN, Freeform, FX Networks, National Geographic, and the Disney Channels.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
- Drive global storage strategies to build resiliency and increase demands for higher video quality and quantity.
- Operationalize XB of storage globally and 24 x 7 operations.
- Manage a mixed team of full-time and contracted engineers of all skill and experience levels.
- Collaborate with product managers and fellow engineers on the design and implementation of systems that deliver high-through put personalized experiences.
- Drive the planning, design, and implementation of both short-term projects and long-term infrastructure initiatives.
- Interface with a variety of stakeholders to define requirements and project timelines.
- Oversee the efficient operations of mission-critical private cloud services, emphasizing reliability, security, and performance.
- Work with the team to iteratively improve development practices and processes.
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 12 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of On-Prem storage architecture and Cloud storage services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of storage infrastructure such as Block, File, Object, and Tape Storage.
- Working with the security team to ensure technical and process alignment on securing the private cloud infrastructure.
- Participating in broader strategic initiatives such as Data Protection, Big data, and unstructured data.
- Managing the process of continuous improvement and scaling out of the solution to multiple geographies and use cases
- Consulting with other business departments regarding the life cycle management of digital assets.
- Having a passion for developing and growing team members
- Communicating at an executive level
- Cloud Platforms including Strategy, Design, Architecture, and Migration (Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, GCP).
Preferred:
- Experience with Enterprise architecture, 24 x 7 operations and multi-region experience.
- Experienced in data-driven decisions to align with business objectives.
- Product/Project management capabilities to prioritize development demands.
- Experience working within Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
- Knowledge of process management, process streamlining, and process organization tools, as well as a fundamental understanding of ITIL best practices.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA, Burbank, CA and in Bristol, CT is $164,500 - $220,600 per year, and in New York, NY is $172,300 - $231,100. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
