DIRECTOR, SUPPLY CHAIN – EL SEGUNDO (Onsite)

Skyryse is seeking a Director of Supply Chain who brings a structured, analytical, and forward-looking approach to building a scalable, compliant, and performance-driven supply chain. This leader will architect the next generation of our supply chain operating model—modular in structure, compliant with FAA (Part 21 PMA and Part 145) standards, and aligned with our mission to transform air travel.

The ideal candidate blends experience from world-class aerospace operations with the adaptability and urgency of a startup. They will build the systems, tools, and team required to scale programs from prototype through production, while embedding supply chain strategy into every step of the product lifecycle.

This is a full-time onsite role based in El Segundo, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Architect and lead a scalable, modular supply chain model that supports flexible program growth, multi-platform deployment, and integration-readiness for future acquisitions or licensing.
  • Develop and lead the full supply chain lifecycle, including sourcing, category management, demand planning, MRP, logistics, supplier quality, and commercial contracts.
  • Embed supply chain inputs into product lifecycle milestones, from early engineering engagement through production ramp and sustainment—driving design-to-cost and manufacturability.
  • Build and lead a high-accountability organization structured around core supply chain domains (planning, sourcing, materials, supplier development) with clear ownership and KPIs.
  • Own contract and commercial execution, including vendor terms and conditions, liability and IP protection, and strategic sourcing frameworks—balancing agility with legal soundness.
  • Ensure full FAA compliance, including PMA (Part 21) and Part 145 repair station support through proper supplier qualifications, traceability, and documentation integrity.
  • Lead ERP and MRP process discipline, ensuring BOM integrity, planning accuracy, inventory velocity, and cost control using tools such as NetSuite or equivalent platforms.
  • Drive supplier development and performance, including onboarding, tiering, scorecards, and dual sourcing strategies that ensure continuity, resilience, and cost control.
  • Stand up a data and tools strategy for digital transformation, including analytics dashboards, cost roll-up systems, and planning tools to ensure cross-functional visibility and faster decision-making.
  • Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, contributing to business cases, operational forecasts, and Series C funding plans with real-time supply chain intelligence and recommendations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, with at least 5 years in aerospace or adjacent industries.
  • Prior success in both large-scale aerospace environments and high-change, fast-growth settings such as startups or new product ventures.
  • Deep experience in supplier strategy, category management, and contract execution with minimal legal dependency.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulatory environments, including PMA (Part 21) and repair station operations under Part 145.
  • Strong ERP and planning system skills (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), including MRP discipline, BOM structure, and planning data integrity.
  • Hands-on leader with a bias for execution and the ability to switch between strategic work and daily operational needs.
  • High analytical competency with a track record of using data and metrics to drive performance and enable better forecasting.
  • Proven team builder with the ability to mentor talent, set expectations, and deliver through others.
  • Excellent collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to represent the function at the executive level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 15+ years of progressive supply chain leadership, with significant tenure in aerospace or highly regulated adjacent industries, and a proven record of scaling organizations through new product introduction and rapid growth phase.
  • Demonstrated success driving supplier strategies and category management initiatives that deliver measurable cost, quality, and lead time improvements, with minimal reliance on legal intervention.
  • Expert-level knowledge of FAA-regulated environments, including oversight of PMA and Part 145 repair station operations, and experience integrating compliance into day-to-day supply chain activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP and planning systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), with a history of optimizing MRP discipline, BOM accuracy, and planning data governance to support operational excellence.
  • Recognized as a transformational leader and mentor, skilled in building high-performance teams, fostering cross-functional alignment, and influencing at the executive level to drive strategic priorities.

  • Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000
  • Valuable stock option plan

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
