Who you are

Metropolis is seeking a Director of Strategic Finance to act as a core architect of our long-term financial strategy. In this role, you will focus exclusively on the future, building and manipulating comprehensive three-statement models that serve as the quantitative backbone of the enterprise. You will work directly with the C-suite in real-time to break down complex operational initiatives into mathematical frameworks, guiding capital allocation, M&A valuation, and the multi-year trajectory of the business.

What you'll do
  • Build, and continuously refine a fully integrated, highly dynamic 3-statement financial model (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to support all strategic decision-making and external fundraising
  • Execute real-time scenario planning and sensitivity analyses during executive meetings to evaluate the precise P&L and cash flow impacts of strategic pivots under various macroeconomic conditions
  • Lead the Long-Range Planning (LRP) process, translating daily business drivers, technological rollout timelines, and market expansion targets into a cohesive multi-year corporate roadmap
  • Partner with Corporate Development during the early phases of M&A, constructing complex valuation models and conducting rigorous financial due diligence before handing off to Enterprise FP&A for execution
  • Advise the CFO and CEO on capital structure optimization, evaluating debt and equity financing alternatives and managing leverage targets
What we're looking for
  • 7+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategic finance
  • Mastery of advanced financial modeling, specifically integrated 3-statement modeling, valuation modeling, and complex scenario analysis
  • Exceptional ability to rapidly translate abstract strategic concepts into mathematical equations and logical analyses
  • Supreme executive presence and communication skills, with a proven ability to face off with founders, investors, lenders, and senior C-suite stakeholders

When you join Metropolis, you’ll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. You will play a key role in building and maintaining this culture as our organization grows. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
