Abacus Insights is a mission-driven, growth-stage technology company focused on transforming the healthcare industry, ultimately creating a more personalized patient experience, improving health outcomes, and lowering the overall cost of healthcare. Abacus Insights provides a flexible, efficient, and secure platform that organizes and exchanges healthcare data from various sources and formats, allowing our customers to uncover differentiated insights that address their clients' needs. In addition, our employees know that they play an active role in keeping our customers' data safe and are responsible for ensuring that our comprehensive policies and practices are met.

With our deep expertise in cloud-enabled technologies and knowledge of the healthcare industry, we have built an innovative data integration and management platform that allows healthcare payers access to data that has been historically siloed and inaccessible. As a result, these payers can ingest and manage all the information they need to transform their business by supporting their analytical, operational, and financial needs through our platform.

Since our founding in 2017, Abacus has built a highly successful SaaS business, raising $100 Million by leading VC firms with profound expertise in the healthcare and technology industries. • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from discovery to close (including initial client communications, on-site presentations, RFI responses, multi-day client workshops, RFP submissions, negotiations, and deal signing), ensuring the seamless execution of growth initiatives and consistently meeting revenue targets
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (product, marketing, customer success, delivery, finance) to deliver compelling proposals and ensure high customer retention
  • Own a seven-figure quota across Abacus Insights most strategic payer customers

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, specifically account growth
  • 5-7 years of experience working either for or directly with Medicaid segment payers
  • An understanding of cloud-based products such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks and Snowflake

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working both inside a payer and for technology companies that serve payers
  • Experience working as a consultant inside the healthcare vertical

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
