About Barupon

Barupon is a rapidly expanding global platform focused on building scalable infrastructure and energy assets with strong long-term institutional value. As the company prepares for major capital deployment and long-term global expansion, Barupon is actively building strategic relationships with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and institutional investors to support large-scale project financing and infrastructure investment.

To accelerate this growth, Barupon is seeking a highly connected Sovereign Wealth & Institutional Capital leader who has direct relationships with sovereign wealth funds and a proven ability to structure and raise large-scale institutional capital.

This executive will play a critical role in securing strategic funding partnerships and leading sovereign-level capital raises in the $400M–$500M+ range to fuel Barupon's expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead capital raising initiatives with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and global institutional investors.

  • Leverage existing relationships with Middle East, Asian, European, or North American sovereign wealth funds to secure strategic investment partnerships.

  • Structure and execute large-scale capital raises ($400M–$500M+) for infrastructure, energy, or industrial asset platforms.

  • Develop institutional investor strategy including sovereign funds, multilateral institutions, and strategic co-investors.

  • Negotiate term sheets, investment agreements, and partnership structures with institutional capital providers.

  • Build long-term partnerships with family offices, sovereign funds, and large global investment groups.

  • Work closely with executive leadership to align capital strategy with Barupon's long-term growth and IPO objectives.

  • Represent Barupon in meetings with global institutional investors and sovereign investment authorities.

Required Qualifications
  • Direct relationships with sovereign wealth funds (Middle East, Asia, Europe, or global sovereign investment entities).

  • Proven ability to raise $400M–$500M+ in institutional or sovereign capital.

  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets, project finance, infrastructure finance, or investment banking.

  • Experience working with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, or multilateral development institutions.

  • Strong track record structuring large-scale institutional investment deals.

  • Background in energy, infrastructure, large-scale industrial assets, or strategic investment platforms.

  • Experience negotiating with government-backed investment entities and global investment funds.

  • Strong global network across institutional capital allocators and sovereign investment groups.

  • Ability to operate at the executive leadership level with CEOs, investment committees, and sovereign investment boards.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience raising capital from sovereign funds such as Middle East sovereign funds, Asian sovereign investment funds, or European sovereign investment entities.

  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure development, or energy transition investments.

  • Background in investment banking, private equity, sovereign investment offices, or infrastructure funds.

  • Familiarity with cross-border investment structuring, tax equity, and sovereign co-investment frameworks.

  • Experience working with multilateral financing institutions (IFC, World Bank, regional development banks).

  • MBA, Master's in Finance, or advanced degree in economics, finance, or business.

The ideal candidate is a globally connected institutional capital leader who already maintains trusted relationships with sovereign wealth funds and has successfully raised hundreds of millions of dollars for major investment platforms. This individual understands how sovereign investment committees operate and can navigate complex international capital partnerships.

To ensure we focus on candidates with real sovereign-level capital relationships, please address the following in your cover letter:

  1. Which sovereign wealth funds or government-backed investment institutions do you have direct relationships with, and how were those relationships established?

  2. Describe a capital raise you personally led that exceeded $400M. What type of investors participated and what was your role in securing the capital?

  3. If selected, which sovereign funds or institutional investors would you approach first to support Barupon’s capital raise, and why?

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
