Job Summary: 

As Ruggable's Director of Sourcing, you will play a key role in supporting our diversification strategy and building long-term relationships with our existing supplier base in addition to evaluating net new suppliers. You will serve as both a decision-maker and an innovative thinker for the Operations team. More specifically, you will support sourcing for several of our best-selling products and drive continuous improvement with our vendors. You will be responsible for evaluating samples, analyzing cost, and providing feedback to vendors to expand and improve our global supplier base.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop and implement Ruggable long term sourcing strategies
  • Develop and implement Ruggable's supplier quality process to ensure effective supplier accountability 
  • Build strong relationships with Ruggable factories, vendors, and cross-functional teams to help foster an environment of partnership and trust
  • Lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team by providing strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management to ensure continuous growth and achievement of Ruggable’s objectives
  • Oversee supplier quality assurance by establishing and maintaining rigorous standards, conducting regular performance evaluations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure product quality and compliance
  • Develop and implement Ruggable's supplier development strategy
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Product Development team to quickly bring innovative new products to market
  • Manage vendor-facing projects and processes, including building new tools to improve speed and reliability 
  • Ensure that all seasonal calendar deadlines are met, issues are raised, and the team is updated in a timely manner
  • Research new markets and identify suppliers to further stabilize and fill assortment gaps 
  • Partner with the team to onboard new regions, suppliers, and factories

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience in sourcing within the textile industry, including familiarity with textile materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier networks
  • 5 years experience in Sourcing and/or Product Development with a globally distributed supplier base
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple ongoing projects with competing timelines
  • Deep understanding of international regulations including tariffs and duties
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
  • Experience managing direct reports and/or cross functional teams
  • Flexibility to periodically travel abroad for vendor site visits

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Specific knowledge of textile, apparel, and/or home décor (textile, trim, packaging, garment) manufacturing and supply chain
  • Highly engaged and qualified supplier base contacts

Compensation: 

  • $160,000 - $175,000 per year base salary
  • Annual bonus that varies based on level of role
  • Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company-sponsored 401K plan
